Great calculator, less expensive than competitors
I bought this instead of a TI-84 for my computer science and statistics classes and am very pleased. Having used both the TI-84 and the Casio FX line extensively I would definitely say it's worth it to save a couple bucks for books or dorm supplies and go with the Casio. It performs all the same functions for a much more budget friendly price. The menus seem a bit daunting if you haven't used a Casio before, but once you get used to them they are really fluid.

Reliable School Supply
This calculator is essential for exams and the graphing functions is reliable. I am fond of the table that displays the coordinates of the graph in addition to the large display. All features are functional and that protective cover is convenient for protecting the screen and the USB connection enables the user to display what was entered on the calculator and the quality was decent for the price

Decent calculator for a good price
Most of the criticism I see here boils down to one thing: it’s not a TI calculator. This particular model lacks natural/textbook entry, which may be an issue for some, but it has all the basics, and is faster than similar TI products. The screen resolution is fairly low, but it’s readable. It does the job, and the price is right. It took me about an evening to figure this thing out, but this is not my first calculator by a long shot. The good: - fast - covers the basics. - runs a long time on 4 AAA batteries. - the calculator feels sturdy. - fairly easy to learn (in my opinion) Not so good: - low resolution screen - no internal flash memory to back up to - it’s too easy to turn the calculator on, a recessed power switch would be nice. (The competition has the same problem) - no data transfer software for the Mac (the newer Casio Prizm models do not need any special software, you can drag and drop files) If the budget will stretch that far you may want to take a look at the Casio FX-CG50. It has a higher resolution color screen, supports textbook entry, has more memory, it’s even faster and it works with a Mac. TI can get away with charging higher prices because they spent real money on teacher resources and training, and getting their calculators included in classroom materials. That does not make a TI calculator a better product, but if I had to buy a calculator for a student I’d have to think about deviating from the “standard”.

Passable
It's acceptable for basic use. Don't expect too much. The material quality is questionable but it functions. Works for me.

Great calculator
Cool calculator. I looked on YouTube to figure out specific functions. Easy to use interface. Extremely happy that it is much less expensive then the ti 84 and just as easy to use.

calculatriuce scientifique

Consigliata.

... is thinking about purchasing this calculator it is an EXCELLENT and POWERFUL instrument that would aid you in studies
*****DISCLAIMER TO FUTURE/CURRENT BUYERS***** Everyone who is thinking about purchasing this calculator it is an EXCELLENT and POWERFUL instrument that would aid you in studies, programming or other general uses however please note that this calculation DOES NOT HAVE NATURAL DISPLAY SETTINGS, Natural display settings are settings that allow you to keep equations in their basic forms e.g. 1/3 would be converted to 0.333333333 or surds would come up as decimal. If you want a calculator with these setting then you must purchase the FX-9860GII: Casio FX9860GII - CASIO FX9860GII GRAPHIC CALCULATOR This is not stated within the item description so I wish for this to be resolved. Regardless of this minor issue I decided to give this 5* because it truly is a fantastic calculator and if you don't mind that this calculator isn't natural display then this calculator is cheap and convenient.
