Great product for lowered cars or differentials.
Great unit. Low profile but has a good amount of capacity around 12 quarts are usable without it being to difficult to transport. I have very low cars (2015 STI and a 2002 S2000) and this fits under them without needing to raise the cars much. The best part about this unit is its low profile and fits underneath differentials without any issues.

so easy to keep the container clean and transport the used oil for recycling
other containers that I have tried were OK at catching the oil, but were inadequate for containing the oil for transport. This unit drops the oil from the collector directly into the container by way a screw-on connection; after the catchment has drained well, it can be removed and a good cap placed on the opening - viola! all in the container without any mess. The container can stand up with the collection point at the top and the pouring opening also at the top, so there is virtually no opportunity for accidents. The caps seal well enough, just don't over-torque them and you'll never have a problem. This is my second purchase of this product, first one was at an auto parts store that quit carrying them. I gave that first one to my dad after quite a bit of use and he still uses it. I am happy to have found this second one after some searching. Yay!

Great low-profile oil catch pan
Slim design stands anywhere, and the drain snaps into the side storage. Vent is a nice feature for pouring the used oil without air lock chugging. Handy to slide under tight access areas. Have used one for many years; buying this for oil changes at a second home.

works as it should
I should have paid attention to the pictures. I was thinking it was a direct drain to the center of the container. Instead you remove the yellow funnel and screw it onto the side port. This raises the height an inch or 2. It works but I thought it was shorter which would give me room to get to the oil pan bolt. I don't have to jack up my Honda Ridgeline. This recovery pan works but I have to adjust my way of removing that bolt.

Doesn't leak, very large funnel
Just in case it's not obvious (it wasn't to me until it arrived), the way this works is that you take the yellow circular thing shown in the pictures off - it's a very large funnel, and screw it onto the yellow cap. What does this mean? 1) Very large area for oil to drain into 2) It doesn't leak. Those very large holes with a cover never seal properly, especially with warm oil in them, but this little cap seals perfectly! Also I found that the hole in the funnel does a better job than my last drain pan in holding onto the plug when it falls. (The plug comes out, you get hit by very hot oil, yell a profanity, and drop the plug.) I highly recommend.

bad molding, leaks
The first time I used this it leaked several quarts of oil all over my garage floor. On closer inspection I discovered the reason was a flaw in the molding process, the plastic injection process left a hole on the bottom side where the oil leaked out while I was draining the oil from the car. I was changing the air filter so I didn't notice until it was too late. This is apparently a quality control issue. Too bad, since the design is very nice and without the leak would have worked very nicely.

Leaked on first use
The fault is mine. I didn't check that the pan's drain cap was firmly screwed on after I received it. I put the funnel in place, slid it under my car, and started draining the oil from my car. As used motor oil filled the drain pan, it slowly leaked out from the cap and made a mess on the floor of my garage. Lesson learned: check all the seals *before* you use the drain pan. It gets three stars for two reasons. 1) The funnel feels flimsy and I'm worried about cross threading it when I attach it. 2) I'm worried the funnel can be dislodged from the drain pan while in use (though that hasn't happened yet). 3) And when removing or replacing the funnel in its little storage cut-out, you have to apply some force that can cause used motor oil to flick around the garage. Wear clothes you don't care about staining because you probably will stain them.

Spot on.
As described. Holds a car engines worth of oil and only fills it half. The removeable/ storable catch pan is great too. Awesome if you have access to an oil disposal site so you can use it over and over.

Improvement on the older model
Have an older version of this exact pan and this is new and improved. The opening on the side of the pan makes emptying out oil a lot easier and the pan holds a lot more than my older model.

Good but cap threads could be tighter
Works as advertised but cap threads a bit loose so it’s easy to overtighten and strip. If cap comes off in transit to oil dump, that’s a real problem.
