BOSS Audio Systems Phantom 12 in Subwoofer Speaker, 2300W, 4 Ohm, P126DVC

This review I'm writing about these chaos extreme 12 s is for people like me I read reviews of the product before I buy it. I bought a pair of these back in 2010 when I was in college because they were affordable. I had no idea that they were legendary beast. A few months back I bought another pair for my 2008 Cadillac CTS 4 I realize that these speakers aren't no joke so I bought two more. So now I'm running four of these I have them in 2 Qbomb dual 12inch shared chambered boxes. Let me tell you this I got one set of 12s running on a tramp 2 ohm amplifier and the other pair on a tramps 4 ohm amplifie it's on man. Both sets of 12's are running at 4 ohms I preset the gain to 89.4 volts on each amp. I can say that I am beyond satisfied with the pound these speakers are putting out. No doubt these chaos extremes are no joke. They hit like linebackers for sho.

Best sub I have found yet for the money

I saw some good reviews for this product and I saw some bad reviews for this product. I understand if you get a manufacturer's defect straight from the store and it doesn't work worth a crap. On the other hand, those of you who said that it worked for a little while but then stopped working, you have to follow the directions and play it at moderate levels for at least 6 hours to break it in otherwise it's going to be ruined. I followed the directions on mine and now I'm booming around town making people mad. Also, these subs work best in a sealed box, no ports. I tried them in both, and they absolutely hate ported boxes.

Do not get this sub. Cheap china garbage. I was running it on 500 watts rms and at first it seemed great. Gave it the 6 to 8 hour break in period, and it actually sounded pretty nice. I will admit that it didn't hit the really low bass amazingly. But besides that it was exactly what I was hoping for. However, after about 20 hours of play time this sub just blew out. I didn't have the gain high, nothing was clipping... it was only on 3/4ths volume. I actually had thought I was running this on 1000 watts, but I looked at how I had my amp bridged and it was only running 500 watts. I could not believe it. Sure, I probably got a dud. But this just shows the quality control of this brand. Another thing was the little handles on the inside of the basket for pulling the sub out of the box just snapped right off when I tried to pull it out. Then the plastic rim itself started pealing away from the sub. This thing was falling apart just from gently removing it from the box. The seller, however, was great. They were very agreeable to a return, no hassle. Would definitely buy from them again. I ended up getting a very similar skar audio sub, and that's been serving me great. About twice the price, but well worth it. The bass is much punchier and hits far lower. Just spend the extra dollars or get something used. Not worth risking something cheap just to get it new.

Don’t do like me. Wired 2-12s 2300 watt to 1 Ohm on a Boss 4000 watt amp (1800 actually) they shook the rear view mirror off. Ppl honestly thought I had 15s. They lasted 5 months till I turned the gain up on my radio an did not reset amp to clipping again My Fault. Anyway my warranty was out so I ordered 2 more can’t wait to install
