Calico Critters Cherry Cruiser

Much better built than so many toys these days. Awesome detail. Works with other aspects of calico critters well. My daughter loved it for her 11 year old birthday and her 11 and 12 year old friends very much enjoyed their turn with the calico critters.

I recommend buying this van for children aged 4 or older. It is suitable into the tween years or for people who collect 1:12 miniatures. The van is well made with durable plastic walls and detailed accessories. Calico Critters' furniture is made of very sturdy, hard-wearing, smooth-edged plastic. Children can happily play with the van and its built-in furnishings - even without the dozens of tiny accessories. The van's many tiny pieces are not suitable for children who still put things in their mouths. To avoid loss, I keep the tiny pieces in a zip-lock bag between play times. The van can be wobbly with the top opened up for the beds but is sturdy for supervised child play. The van will hook up to the red and the green Calico Critters' cars to be used more like a real motorhome. Children will have hours of playing "let's pretend" with the van.Calico Critters are adorable animal dolls with flocked skin that usually have movable heads, arms, and legs. (Some of the babies don't.) There are adult and child dolls with clothes, toys, houses, play houses, a school, restaurants, stores, a motorcycle, furnishings, and many other accessories sold separately. There is equipment for doing cooking, laundry, gardening, camping, and playing in a nursery or on a playground. A good number of accessories accompany the buildings and some vehicles. I have bought many of the sets in the last three years. My six-year-old grandson and I have been happy with all of it.Calico Critters are called Sylvan Families outside the United States.

My little girl loves everything Calico Critters. This is one of her all time favorites. She loves all of the accessories, details and storage spaces.

Lots of imaginative play value

Considering the other Calico Critter items we have purchased, I was not expecting assembly to be necessary. Be prepared to apply stickers, punch out and fold pieces of paper (maps and postcards). The utensils were in a plastic, model like pack. It’s not a lot of work, just a bit shocking considering the price and no previous accessories have come this way.On a happy note, my girls love it. It attaches to the town car quite easily. The families fit well in it and allow for hours of imaginative fun.

I am so glad that we purchased this calico critter camper for my daughter. It is really cute!Pros: I like that it swings out and the side that swings out is a huge kitchen. My daughter was 3 when we gave it to her and she just loved all the little pieces. We had 3 critters already and so she loved to have little sleepovers with them since they had the sleeping mats. The bathroom part is another one of her favorite things about the camper. It also has a secret compartment in the ground.Cons: The hinge on the camper comes off time to time. If you have really rough child then it might break. It is rather big and the shape is a little weird. You would have to find a big box to store your camper in when your child is done playing with it.My daughter loves playing with her camper!

My daughter has wanted this camper for a couple years now and finally I purchased it for her 6th birthday. There is enough empty space at bottom of box to place the cherry cruiser in the bottom. That's what I did so she got it as one gift....let's face it, at full retail the cruiser should come with this thing anyway! My daughter opened it and was delighted. There was a problem though. One of the roof beds for the kid critters would not stay in. It kept falling out when we moved it up and down to close and open. My daughter didn't care and wanted to keep it but I said no way. I promptly ordered an exchange, which Amazon did overnight to me. The second one works fine. I sent the first one back. At the price of $70.00 dollars this thing should be prestine out of the box. There was no way I was going to settle for a malfunctioning piece off the bat. I got this significantly discounted too and I still refuse to accept a damage to it right out of box. It is an adorable toy. So cute and functions well overall. It attaches easily to the car. The little details are darling and as you would expect from calico critter. I find the plastic on it to be a little cheap feeling. Cheaper feeling than our little calico house. Not as cheap as mainstream toy line plastics but it is fragile compared to say, Playmobil plastic. I always end up comparing calico critter to Playmobil but I can't help it since we own a lot of both and hands down every time, Playmobils quality as far as plastic goes blows all the competition out of the park. I find calico to be a similar toy though in that it has lots of small pieces and plastic structures. Also price point wise. I find Playmobil to be cheaper but they are close. I wish international playthings would push to to take the quality up a bit since their price point is high enough that the plastics should be higher quality. They should also offer replacement pieces. Anyways, I'm starting to enter a rambling stage or start a debate with myself and that was not my intention! In summary, it's cute. Is it worth $70.00? You'll have to be the judge of that. I would not pay full price for it but if it's all someone wants and they love critters then I say pull the trigger. It is a fun toy for either a girl or boy and the car....well, it is just as fun and the two make a great gift.

I love love love calico critters, these toys are amazing! When I first saw them, I had to get for my daughter, I got her the houses and grocery store, then she saw the car and wanted it, then I saw the camper and I had too….these toys I wish I had when I was little, the little details on the furnitures and tiny forks and spoons are so so so cute! I love it and my daughter loves them too…it makes me want a camper!! It is a must have!!
