Perfect replacement for old pump
This was the cheapest replacement pump that I could find online when my original pump finally died. It was fairly easy to swap out. I googled a YouTube video that laid it out step by step and it took me about 1.5 hours by myself to swap out. I went ahead and ordered new seals for my pump while I had it apart and swapped all of those out as well. Shipping was quick and the pump was exactly the same pump and works perfectly so far. Hoping that it lasts as long as my old pump did. Make sure to take a picture of the wiring on the old one to make sure you know where each wire goes on the new one.

Worth the effort..but get new seals!
My pool pump motor died. I couldn't see spending 3X as much as the cost of a motor when it couldn't be rocket science to replace it. There are two different flange types and this is the square flange I needed. It is very easy to change the motor between 110V and 220V operation, but you need to be sure to set it properly. It came set up for 220V as I recall, no doubt as a safety precaution. I watched a few handy youtube videos on how to do it. The only problem I had is that I goofed and put the seal in backwards. Mechanically it looked like it fit that way, but I should have realized that it had to go 180 degrees. I was just tired when I got to that point. Plus I hadn't taken a photo of it. I did take a photo of the wiring before I disconnected it, which was helpful. One point is that the design doesn't allow you to easily lock the shaft to unthread the pump head stator. You need to get a wrench on the flats on the end where the wiring is. A tip is to remove the vee shaped contact that touches the end of the shaft. It is one screw and with it out of the way it is easy to get a wrench on it (7/16 as I recall). I suggest getting new pump seals and gaskets for about $40 when you do the job. When I had a leak I did so, as water was leaking between the motor and the pump housing, which will cause motor failure. So I ordered new seals before I realized I had the rotating mechanical seal in backwards! Runs absolutely like new. Nice and quiet too. IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE - not only do you need to have the breaker off, this pump has a capacitor to help is start up. You need to short the terminals using a screwdriver with an insulated handle or you could get a potentially nasty shock. I did this and never got a spark, perhaps indicating my capacitor was not charged, but be sure to do it just in case.I looked into variable speed pumps...just too expensive...and two speed pumps...which were far more reasonable...but decided to go for a sure thing...which was this pump which is a direct replacement for what I had. My pump was dead and I didn't want my pool to turn green. A two speed pump is probably the best option in terms of saving electricity, but as I recall you need to add a switch to most motors yourself and the switch installation was just an added complication to the wiring, which I was already a bit nervous about, so I decided to pass on it.

Great inexpensive motor
If you have an older system, this is plug and play. Quiet and works well.

Blew up before a year!
The media could not be loaded. I have owned this for 12 months and used it 4 months. It is making terrible noises and isn’t blocked. The seller was the Pool Super Store. It has been a nightmare to get a warranty claim. Beware. The warranty link was blank on Amazon page. When you call the Superstore the phone prompts you to use the chat. The chat was always closed and it said to use email to contact them. I am still waiting for a response. Read the fine print though. You will pay a 20% restocking and pay for shipping (very heavy). All this is before you know whether the claim is approved! If not you are out! Next time I will go through a local business where I can talk to someone and get some service!

Ecactly what I needed
My pool company was nice enough to give me the part number for this motor and I ordered it on Amazon at a much cheaper price. The pool company came and installed it yesterday along with the seals I ordered. Everything is working perfectly.

Great Value!
Replaced my pool pump motor with this direct replacement. I’m still surprised how inexpensive it was.

Good value, excellent performance
Running smoothly from day one, a perfect replacement for my old, burned out motor. Easy to install.

Good fit, poor quality
It was a pretty straightforward installation but the motor seems to be overheating and shuts down after a few minutes of operation. Stays off for longer than it runs, makes it pretty useless... my old motor which was the same model number would run for hours.
