6 years later, still fantastic.
[Update for 2017]I'm upgrading this review to 5/5 stars, because this headset it still alive and kicking after 6 years. It still works great, and I use it regularly when taking calls in my home. The headset has outlasted every one of my smartphones. It still holds a charge pretty well and still sounds great. If it ever breaks, I would probably buy another one.[2017 Update #2]Well, it finally "died." But only because I accidentally put it through the wash and dryer. It still technically works and pairs with my phone, but the earpiece is physically broken off and no sound comes out. RIP PS3 Headset.[Original Review]I purchased this mainly for use with my T-Mobile HTC G2 Android phone. I have a PS3, but I don't play online often, so it's mainly for phone calls.Pros:It connects quickly and flawlessly to my phone, and the sound quality is absolutely amazing in the earpiece. As good, if not better, than the sound I get from my handset. The earpiece is comfortable and light, and I often forget that I'm even wearing it.The earpiece comes with a USB cable that allows instant pairing (and charging) with your PS3. No more fussing with it to disconnect it from your phone and force it to connect to the PS3. It just does it, no problem. There's also a cradle charger for it, but I haven't had much use for that yet.Battery life is great so far. I accidentally left it on in my car overnight, and it was still blinking the next morning.Cons:The major drawback of this headset is that people on the other end of the phone have a hard time hearing and understanding me. Unless I'm in a perfectly quiet and enclosed area, I often have to speak loudly and repeat myself. They say I sound much more tinny than usual. I asked my wife to call me while using it so I could hear what they were hearing, but I didn't really notice any major issues.I'm also not too thrilled with the button configuration, although I guess that's because it's primarily a gaming headset. The large main button on the side of the headset mutes the mic instead of accepting/ending calls. This makes sense when you're gaming, but when I first started using it with my phone, it was counter-intuitive. The phone button is smaller and on top, near the volume buttons. It didn't take too long to adjust to this change.Summary:I'd say this is probably the best Bluetooth headset you can get right now for the money. The cons I listed don't bother me too much, but I figured I should let possible customers know about them. I'm happy with the purchase so far.

Great!
So far, I have had no issues with this bluetooth. It works great for the PS3 and I also use it for my mobile phone. Although a bit misleading, I thought you could switch over from PS3 to phone if you received a call. But, you have to turn off the bluetooth in order to switch the pairing. But that's not a big issue, I'm usually not on the phone when I'm playing a game.Pairing the bluetooth to both the PS3 and my phone was no hassle at all. All I had to do was plug it into the PS3 for a first-time connection, and every time after that, all I had to do was power on the bluetooth while the PS3 was on, and it would connect within 15 seconds. For my phone, the pairing was even simpler. Just read the instruction manual and follow the directions and it's an easy set up.As for sound quality, the chat is very clear on the PS3 as well as on the phone. As for the receiving end, I have not received any complaints. They have said that the chat is clear and the sound is not too loud nor too low. The dual-mic noise cancellation does work, as I have blasted music as well as talked, and the receiving end said that they could only slightly hear the music. Not sure how the technology works with that, but it was able to pick up my voice over background noises.I have only had it for 2 weeks, but battery life is pretty good. It lasts about 12 hours before needing a charge. A full charge takes about 2.5 hours from the low battery status. The earpiece also fits great on my ear, and you can attach it to either ear. It may feel a little loose depending on your ear.The blue light is also a nice added touch of aesthetics, in my personal opinion.Lastly, I love how you can also put the bluetooth on the charging dock and still be able to use for the PS3. It works as a standing mic while charging at the same time. The price of $49.99 is a bit high, however. But, just wait for a sale and get it for around $30-$40.

When BT Headsets were cool...
Version 2 of the Sony BT Headsets for the PS3. IMO Version 1 was the best, I hated the C-Clip around the ear for this one. I dont have big ears or small ears, the clip felt like it was digging into my ear after about 30-45 minutes. The Audio quality was nice and talking to others online in games was a great time, most of the time, 60% of the time 100% of the time.
