Completely happy with us
This is a nice entry-level pole,, I'm not one to buy expensive fishing poles, all my poles have been Shakespeare's around $30 and I only do stream fishing, So spending the $70 was a big jump for me. The weight of this Set up, impressed me the most , It's very lite. Took this up to Lake Shasta for a week, was really impressed and satisfied with the casting/reeling. I caught fish with this every day, although they weren't big, a pound or less. I would recommend this pole and reel

Do NOT buy
The Abu Garcia Max line is flawed. The tips break off off little to no pressure. That happened with this rod and a Max X I purchased before I bough this one. Both broke in the same spot. Something is wrong with the manufacture of the rods. Abu Garcia is a reputable and reliable company but something went wrong with the Max rods in maufacturing or design.

Perfect gift for fisherman
This fishing pole arrived as described and was exactly what my husband wanted. The bright color makes it easy to locate in the boat and the reel spins smoothly. We live in Florida and I know it will be used year round. The Abu Garcia brand is known for quality, and this fishing pole did not disappoint.

Broke on first use
Bought to go camping in august made a few casts in the lake we camped by. First snag on about the 10th cast . When I pulled on the snag pole broke in half
