Brooks Hoxton Wire Front Bicycle Basket

I spent a lot of time researching basket options for my new Specialized Roll hybrid cruiser bike, and finally settled on this basket based on appearance and detachability. Quite happy with the purchase, which although expensive, is an excellent fit and very sturdily attached to my bike. I ride 1 mile, most days, to the local grocery store to buy dinner supplies or a sixer, and this basket is the perfect size. One thing worth mentioning for those also riding the Roll is that the attachment clamps were too large for the smaller than standard handlebar size of that bike, but the issue was easily resolved with several wrap-arounds of electrical tape. Overall, despite the price (which isn't for the feint of heart), this was a great investment: looks great and performs as desired.

I suited out my bike to look vintage/retro so i'm particular about what accessories to get on it and for the longest time refused to get a wire basket until i saw this one. Already have gotten compliments on it. Basket looks exactly as pictured and you can feel the quality of the product. It is heavier than your average stocked wire basket, but the aluminum (seems to be heavy duty aluminum) is hollow - might weigh 2 to 3 lbs.The klickfix handlebar adapter is really easy to install, but would not fit snug to my handlebar so i simply put cut-out spare tire tube around the bars. Basket is so easy to clip on and clip off... makes store visiting a breeze, and i've now got the sexiest basket in town.Worth the price.

OK. This basket is ridiculously expensive, but sometimes you've just got to treat yourself, right? Well, that's my rationale. The Brooks Hoxton basket is really beyond repair. Not only does it look great, but it is very functional. The heavy gauge aluminum construction feels like it will last forever and the quick release mounting system is great. You can grab the basket, run into the store, come back out and click and go.Takes about 10-15 minutes to install. If you've got a bike tool or metric Allen key set and a Philips screwdriver, you re good to go.I mounted this on my new Raleigh Classic Roadster and it is a perfect match style-wise. Very classy--not feminine at all (one of my big complaints about many other baskets is that they are very girly)--and highly functional. If the price weren't so high, I'd definitely give it 5 stars.

Wonderful basket! Snug fit on klickfix handlebar attachment, thick metal, and much superior quality compared to other baskets I have owned. I was hesitant at first due to the expensive price, but having used it for a few weeks, I could not be happier with my purchase. As in other reviews, I would like to warn buyers that my package did not include the klickfix attachment. Upon contacting Amazon customer service, they sent me the piece I needed. If you decide to purchase this item and do not receive your klickfix, I would suggest doing the same.

Beautifully made basket but no mounting hardware included. Now I have to return it for another. Not my idea of a good use of my time! I don't work for Amazon. This sort of thing happens far too often.Second one was fine. A very nice high quality item, well packaged and complete this time. Installation is quick and easy. I think Amazon sent me a recycled return the first time. Waisted my time, but got it right on the second attempt. Not happy with Amazon but the basket is great.

I read the reviews on this item before I purchased and another reviewer said that the "Click-Fix" mount was not shipped with the basket. I assumed that was just a fluke. I received my basket yesterday and the mount was not included either!! I wouldn't order this until Amazon gets their act together and includes the mounting mechanism.I am returning the basket. It is nice, but large for the front of my beach cruiser and I don't want to go through the hassle of having to order and wait for the mounting. Just going to my local bike shop and pick up a $30 basket ;-)

Update 1: Amazing. The replacement was also missing the hardware (seller: Amazon.com). I really wish I could rate the shipping process separate from the overall rating, because this is just ridiculous.Update 2: I am updating my rating to 3 stars. The basket itself is exactly what I was looking for, but I cannot overlook the shipping fiasco, so am lowering the rating as a warning. After the second one arrived (different from the first; the torn-off bracket packaging was in a different spot), I did not return it. Instead, I called an Amazon CS rep who helpfully credited my account for the price of a new Klickfix bracket, which I then ordered separately. I suspect that returning/replacing would have simply repeated the miserable process ad nauseam, as it's clear there is no real inventory control for this product.Original review:Reviewing this as received: there is no included mounting hardware. As has happened with other reviewers, the basket arrived with the mounting bracket apparently zip-tied to the basket and then ripped off. Now I'll need to return and reorder, which is a shame as it seems like it's got great build quality and is just what I needed.I will update this rating whenever I manage to get a complete order.

Ehrlich schön! Ein hoher Preis, aber ich habe den Kauf nicht bereut. Ich habe den Korb an meinem weißen Specialized aus den 80ern. Unter Umständen ein Eklat für Montainbiker_innen, aber ich nutze es als mein Statdrad. Wunderschön.In habe den Korb allerdings ans Rad angeschlossen, denn in meiner Stadt wäre der Korb sonst wohl nicht lange am selben Rad.Der Bügel klappert beim Fahren über Kopfsteinpflaster. Mich stört das nicht.:)
