FYI-- the dunks get rid of the larva from the adult gnats. The gnat lays their eggs and the larva finds and eats the roots of your plant and if you don't get rid of the larva they will eventually kill your plants, so follow instructions and your gnat problem should be solved. FYI-- you might want to buy some plant sand and layer the entire top of the plant soil while you're at it. Gnats don't like landing on sand so they won't be able to lay their eggs. You should do both treatments at the same time-- dunks and sand.- so you get rid of the entire problem at the same time. Good bye gnats!!

**Q: How often do you have to add each one?**
A: about once a month

**Q: Are they safe to use with plants?**
A: I put a1/2 of one in my 55 gallon rain barrel.I water my harden&potted plants with the water.They do great!

**Q: What time of year are these needed in the south?**
A: In Texas anytime when the temperature has been above the 50s for a week is best rule of thumb I think.  I live in North Texas but South Texas I would say year around, the Mosquitos can get really bad.

I read somewhere that these mosquito dunks are also good to get rid of gnats on plants. They do. Just follow instructions and the problem will be solved. FYI-- the dunks get rid of the larva from the adult gnats. The gnat lays their eggs and the larva finds and eats the roots of your plant and if you don't get rid of the larva they will eventually kill your plants, so follow instructions and your gnat problem should be solved. FYI-- you might want to buy some plant sand and layer the entire top of the plant soil while you're at it. Gnats don't like landing on sand so they won't be able to lay their eggs.
