Need a M6x1.0 tap to thread your holes
If you’re not trying to break your bolts inside of your truck bed, you need an M6 x 1.0 tap to thread your holes for these bolts. I believe they should’ve included that in the kit, but they didn’t so buy one and save yourself the headache.

The bolts are self tapping so put a little oil on them and run them in and out until you get them tight. So nice to have the tie downs on top.

Use Vasoline on the bolt threads!
These went in with no problems. Another purchaser recommended coating the screw- in bolts first with Vasoline on the threads to "cut the threads into the truck body before attempting to install the devices. Great advice! After "pre-threading the bolts first and then taking them back out, the devices installed without issue, and the bolts snugged up into the truck. The keys are "universal" and would only prevent someone without a key from removing them.

Adds utility to your Ford truck
Glad I bought them. They arrived last night and I installed them today. You definitely want an impact driver for the install. I lubed the screws with petroleum jelly. I have the plastic drop in bedliner, which makes the install a little harder, but get your screw in the hole and use one hand to pull the liner back while the other hand holds the impact driver and when the screw is nice and straight, and the liner isn't in the way, drive it in. I found on my truck that two holes for each plate did not have the liner interfering so I got those two in first to hold the plate in and free up a hand to pull the liner back for the other two each time.This set included the T30 bit and 8 keys total so plenty of extra ones.I spent less than an hour on install, including removing my tri fold tonneau cover and putting it back.

Must Have Add-On for F-150 Owner
These are a must have addition to the bed of your F-150. These perform great in a variety of situations. I’ve used them to tie down belongings for multiple cross county moves, as well as securing large pieces of furniture.These are a great bang for your buck. If you plan on strapping anything down in the back of your truck, these are a must have item.
