Falure to germinate
The garden appears to operate correctly, but after 4 weeks, nothing germinated. I contacted Veritable and ,, after submitting detailed info, they indicated that they do get occasional failures to germinate and, baed on their Germination Guarantee, promised that they would issue credits to repurchase new lingots (seed pods) from their website. However, after another four weeks, they have not issued credits and tech service has failed to respond to my last two inquiries. So, we basically have an expensive LED light that doesn't do anything.

Complete indoor herb garden with grow lights and self watering reservoir.
Received this indoor herb garden to test out. It comes complete as a kit with the reservoir base tank, grow pod frame, seed pods, grow lights and power supply. Some assembly is required but nothing complicated or difficult. Once you get it all un-packaged you'll need to install the lights which snap into place. The lights are adjustable vertically to provide the optimum light exposure as the seeds germinate and grow. They can independently be placed low to the seed pods and raised as they grow taller. The light intensity also adjusts automatically depending on the room brightness which is nice. The instruction manual is very well documented and illustrated in a large variety of languages. The base tank provides the water supply for the individual pods of seeds. There is a central fill with a float to indicate when the tank is full and when it needs more water. The pod units are individually accessible. The seed pods are provided with the seeds in place and fertilizer applied. Simply remove the seed pod from its box and install in the pod and the pod installs into the frame which is in the tank unit. Fill the tank with clean water until full, plug in the power for the lights and wait for germination.Seems there are some issues with successful germination and will have to wait and see if these are going to be successful.

50/50 success
It works, kind of. But 2(chives)of the 4 pods that came with it didn't even sprout a single shoot.Basil grew but seems unlikely it's thin stem will allow it to grow as big as you'd like, in this small amount of soil.Thyme sprouted but appears like it's going to just fall over and die before it gets big enough to use.So all in all 50/50 or less success.

Excited
We have such a short growing season here and I got excited about this method for potentially year-long fresh vegetable growth. This is self-contained, nothing to assemble except to place the light posts. I plugged it in, filled it with water and we have sprouts peaking through in 7 days. The system controls the lights and continued slow watering —- my part is to keep the water reservoir full and it lets me know when to do that.

Overpriced and disappointing.
I recently purchased a veritable system. I was super excited to receive it but am greatly disappointed in the outcome of the lingots I received. I got the basil, thyme, chives, and parsley. The basil is doing great. I seem to have plants in every portion of the lingot. However, the chives produced nothing after 5 weeks. Not a single sprout and is now getting what looks to be algae. The thyme gave me one small, lonely sprout, and only half the lingot of parsley sprouted. For the price, I expected to have a better outcome. I have followed troubleshooting with no avail. I would never recommend this to anyone. Overpriced and disappointing.

Quality Appliance Had Mixed Results
Now, I'll let you know up front that while I love gardening, that love does not always translate to results or at least results that do not kill the plants. That was one of the big reasons I took a chance on an indoor hydroponic garden, I felt like the results would skew more favorably for my efforts. The results were mixed.First, setting up the base was super easy, the directions/diagrams clear and from unboxing to plugged in was less than ten minutes.Second, the lingots came in individual boxes that have what they are clearly marked so you can put the tab under the edge to make it easy to know which lingot is what. Now, I had mixed results on the seeds, the basil and thyme came in fantastic! In fact, the basil got so big and fluffy I had to transplant it outside where it is continuing to thrive. The thyme is growing nicely but I'm not going to transplant it until after summer as it is so dang hot here.I did have two lingots totally fail. Both had a mold looking substance and a couple of sprouts that quickly died back. Veritable is replacing those two (have not shown up yet in mail) and their customer service has been fantastic through the whole ordeal.I do enjoy my table top garden, and I believe it will work out great for starting seeds (the lingots are cheaper than buying live plants) and as long as you realize farming is not guaranteed even indoors, you should enjoy your table garden also.
