This is the second sauce I’ve sampled by TruffleHunter, this, the Black Truffle Hot Sauce, and its every bit as good. It has a distinct and strong, spicy flavour, and it’s hot. I find that just tiny amount is sufficient to transform a dish. I’m not a regular user of sauces but these TruffleHunter sauces could change that, they are something quite different, and make a real difference without swamping the flavours of the dish.

Nothing special. With truffles one would ecpect an exotic taste. Or at least unusual.

Truffles and Hot Sauce are probably my favourite two things, hence why I got this. Unfortunately for me personally it just doesn't work. It's weird to have the truffle taste in a hot sauce and enjoy it.

A review from the wife... This is a weird mix of sour, hot and musty flavours. The predominant taste is that of vinegar so if you don't like strong vinegary tastes, this will feel quite overwhelming. The spice is an after taste and is quite mild. My husband could smell the mustiness more strongly than I could. Overall, I am not sure that the combination really felt that harmonious for me. Premium sauces are all the rage these days however I think this one is extremely overpriced.

Comes well presented in a strong cardboard box, with the truffle hunter logo, which protects the bottle in transit. The bottle is glass with a screw top lid, with a plastic seal around, holding 250ml of sauce. The label show the nutritional values, ingredients and storage instructions. It has a good best before date to it, November 2021, so just over 7 months away. Opening it, you can smell the garlic straight away. Reddish brown in colour with bits of pepper corn and chilli. Having never tried truffles, being with a strong taste of chilli we were unsure whether its stands out completely or not, you do get that mushroomy taste though. It does have a slightly spicy taste, but not really strong or overpowering. The taste is unique, but not something we would purchase again. It left a greasy feeling in the roof of my mouth. Can be used as a dipping sauce or spreading and drizzling over food. GMO free and suitable for vegans. It's okay, but not really for us.

I’m new to the Truffle taste but I like this sauce. It’s basically Tabasco with Truffle. My taste buds aren’t use to it yet, which is a nice change from the usual supermarket sauces. I’m using it as “dip” – but will add it to burgers and any melted cheese I may have later. It’s novel and I like it for being different.Downside: for 250ml – it’s a bit expensive.Can recommend 100% - even for just the novelty of the taste.

Not recommended - this truffle hot sauce did not taste right for us. We bought the other bottle with slightly hotter and it is great!
