eTape16 ETBT16.75-DB-RP Digital Tape Measure, Bluetooth, Polycarbonate, 16', Red

The measure itself is great, BUT the Bluetooth feature is a PAIN! I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 with Android software that I am using to connect the eTape to, and it is like an act of Congress. It took over an hour to initially connect the tape to my phone, after which the Bluetooth feature worked great. But after I shut off the eTape and restarted it, I discovered that the device was no longer paired to my phone. Apparently you have to pair it to your device every time you use it! This wouldn't be that bad except for the fact that it takes MANY attempts to successfully pair the eTape to your device, including but not limited to restarting your phone multiple times. In the amount of time it takes to get the eTape paired to your phone you could complete most tasks that you intended to use the eTape on! Disappointing, as this was a very clever idea, but a very poor end product.

The accuracy is very good, but the bluetooth instructions that came with the unit are wrong. The instructions that shipped with the unit say that you press the Mem 1 button for 1 second to transfer the readings to the cell phone or iPad app. That does not work. The manufacturer's web site has the correct instructions. You are supposed to briefly press the bluetooth button to transfer the readings. -1 point for incorrect instructions.

This was a Christmas gift for a carpenter. I thought it was cool that it sent the digital measurements to his IPhone

This is the best thing since laser levels. Simple to learn, convenient to use, and inexpensive to buy.

Bought this for my husband's birthday.,.he love it. Our grandson, whom is a welder, love it, so we are orderering one for him for his birthday.

works well & eliminates writing error. I wish they offered a 1" x 16 foot model for HD use.

I do some precise work and the foundation for that is precise measurements. This tape measure gives me the ability to get precise inside or outside measurements which other tape measures can't do. Being able to get consistently accurate measurements of the projects I work on is a tremendous help.
