Made in USA! If you go to the Starrett website and search the item's number, in this case 135A, the description that comes up will show a US flag if made in the USA. If not, a stylized image of the globe (the earth) will show for "Global Series."

which would be a better buy the 135a at 2.5" or 135b at 3.5" ?

I have only a 2.5" Starrett level, it is very good for me. I cannot give an opinion for the 3.5" level. Richard
