New Balance Women's WC1005 Stability Tennis Shoe

I'm tough on the soles of my tennis shoes. Once I wore through one brand in a month and a half. I came to wear New Balance first because of their tough soles, but I stayed because of the support, roomy toe box, and comfort. The 1005 aren't the best New Balance tennis shoes I've worn, but they are the best for me in the current line. They have good mid-rise ankle support to ward against rolling. The soles grip without hanging onto the court. I have a high arch/instep, and this shoe's stability is critical.New Balance tends to run a little small. Even though I wear an 8.5 shoe, I wear a 9 in this one to protect my toe nails from cracking during sudden stops. Ever since I've sized up in New Balance, I haven't had any problems. I used to paint my toe nails every summer, all summer long, because otherwise I couldn't wear sandals.New Balance is one of the few tennis shoe brands that comes in narrow and wide widths, although you have to like the shoe first to make it worthwhile. Before buying these, I recommend that you try on a pair of New Balance shoes, even if they are not this particular style, in a store to see if you like the general fit of the brand.These are not the "tennis shoes" of the Midwest -- that is, these shoes are specifically designed for playing tennis, not everyday "sneakers" as we say in the Northeast. They lean forward slightly to keep you on the balls of your feet, and they are cushioned in high-impact areas, with stabilization to keep the foot upright during quick lateral movement. Although I probably could wear them all day long, I certainly wouldn't want to wear them every day, all day long. For me these shoes are exactly what I expected since I've been wearing New Balance shoes for year. However, this particular shoe ran a bit small (I wear size 5), much to my surprise as all other New Balance I've ordered fit perfectly. I returned them and replaced them with a size 5.5, and again they fit perfect. I play tennis at least 5 days a week and wouldn't wear any other brand, there is no breaking in, I played 2 hours of tennis the day they were delivered. I bought the grey/pink and love them. Go get yourself a pair, I think you'll love them too.

I have worn New Balance court shoes for 8 years and love them. I have a narrow foot and they are the only company I can find that makes them to fit me. I typically wear a 7-1/2AA but have always had to order an 8AA in court shoes; however, for this shoe I ordered the 8AA and it was too big. I ordered a 7-1/2AA and it fit perfectly. Don't know why the sizing is different on this shoe but that's ok as they are great. No break-in period required.

I had a pair of these shoes before and I like them. However, this time, I had to order 4 pairs before I got a pair was did not have a defect and still, these were not perfect. Considering the price is over $105, I was very disappointed in the workmanship and quality. Defects ranged from imperfections in the mesh material to the two leather being sewn unevenly between the two shoes. It was ridiculous having to order 4 pairs and finally giving up on receiving a perfect pair.

I bought these for my wife, size 6 1/2 c/d and she loves them. They seem to fit her true to size. I own 4 pairs of the mens compliment shoe size 12 1/2 wide and they also fit me true to size. I feel they are worth every cent. I find them so comfortable for walking around town or just travelling overseas on a long flight. We don't play tennis anymore and I'm retired but find them very comfortable as a senior. And so does my wife.

I love these shoes! I have been wearing leather court shoes and my feet get hot during the summer. I decided toorder something with some mesh. I love the feel of these shoes and look forward to cooler feet this summer!I took a chance on ordering these since I did not try them on. I have worn New Balance shoes some in the past and took a chanceby ordering the same size. They fit as expected and are very comfortable!

These are very comfortable. As with all tennis shoes, I order a half size larger than I normally wear. This fit because I made the size adjustment of a half size larger. I really like the shoe.

Having a narrow foot creates alto of problems. Not all manufacturers make their in a narrow width. I' m very happy that I found a pair on Amazon.
