good for the price
First off: I've owned many pairs of in-ear headphones. I prefer in-ear headphones to the over-ear kinds. I've owned a pair of shure SE215s, JVC HAFX1X, way too many cheapo in-ear headphones than I can remember.Though the price screams "cheapo" these are anything but cheap. The sound quality is superb (though not as loud as the JVC HAFX1X, which is actually a good thing!) The design is solid and I like the added touch of clear plastic near the speakers.Good - The design is solid and the cable seems sturdier than the JVCs.Bad - Lack of detachable cable (but then again for this price you can't really find a pair of in-ear headphones that include this feature, the Shure SE215s are your best bet)

Worth taking a chance on??
I really wanted to like these IEMs. They were very well received by one of my favorite audiophile websites. I'm not an audiophile, but I do own over a dozen or so IEMs and full size headphones including Sennheiser HD598, Grado SR325is, AKG 702, ATH M50, Klipsch S4i, Klipsch X10, several MEElectronic models, and my most recent favorite, absolute best-bang-for-the-buck Soundmagic ES18. The sound of these Ne-770X is not audiophile, but boy are they fun to listen to. I burned them in for 3 days by playing my iPod on shuffle while it was plugged in to the wall charger. On the fourth day I could hardly wait to start enjoying them. The bass is exaggerated and a bit muddy. The mids are a bit recessed and the highs are not very clean or crisp. For $18 I didn't expect perfect/audiophile caliber IEMs, nor was it what I was looking for. What I wanted and what I found were fun to listen to IEMs. Now the reason for my 1 star review....by day 7 the left earphone started making a lot of static noise and began to intermittently go in and out. I'm a very busy person and don't have a lot of free time to go through the hassle of contacting Amazon and go through the whole return process. I know it was "only" $18, but to me $18 is still a lot of money. If you are still considering these it may be worth taking a chance on them. I would however recommend you give STRONG consideration to the SoundMagic ES18. I personally think the SoundMagics sound far superior with tighter, more controlled bass, good mids and beautiful clean, crisp highs. AND the SoundMagics were only $12. Anyway, there's my two cents worth. I hope it helps.

Eh
This is my first Nuforce product (and my last). Upon receiving the package, the earphones were packaged in a nice box. It comes with the earphones (obviously), case for the earphones, and three different rubber earpiece sizes (two sets each; very generous!).The earphones look very nice. Has a sort of plasticky, cheap feeling to it, but its not horrible. Especially for the price, but I think Nu force could have done a little better. The cord and rubber pieces on the cord feel like they will last. Now on to the meat of the review. My initial impressions weren't great. Sounded too muddy and bass-y. Disappointed, I decided to give them another go after a period of "burn in". Sounded pretty similar for the most part. Audio quality is sub par. The bass seemed to clear up a little, and sounds full and great, but that's where the greatness ends. Treble is incredibly muddy, and mids are almost nonexistent. I listen to a variety of music. Rap/hip-hop, classical, punk, electronic, metal, ambient, indie... you name it. All missing the clear and crisp high trebles. It sounds as if they put a plastic bag over the singers head. Or sounds like someone put the high EQs down very low. I wasn't expecting crazy mids being a sub-$50 earphone. But its almost nonexistent!Disappointed with these earphones. It does look nice, comes with a decent baggy for the 'phones, and a generous amount of rubber pieces. But what's the point if the earphones aren't great? If you're a bass head, you probably won't be disappointed, but if you're looking for an earphone with sophisticated audio for a decent price, look elsewhere.

Not quite the quality of its bigger brother. Still ...
Not quite the quality of its bigger brother. Still a lot of sound quality for a very low price in comparison to other earbuds on the market.

Not quite as good as the 700x but good value
These are just a tad bit dry compared to the discontinued 700x. Actually a bit more analytical which many might interpret as higher fidelity but most consumers will simply describe the sound as a little less fun than the old 700x. Bass is just as strong but because its a bit tighter it can be perceived as a tad less. For $35 there is really nothing to complain about here. the sound is pretty good overall. The cord could be a little more flexible and the materials aren't up to the standards of the 700x/m but they were double the price. These are the ones I take to work or the gym, loan to friends etc without worrying about losing/damaging expensive headphones but sound good enough that I don't feel like I'm loaning friends a sucky product or sacrificing too much by not taking my other more expensive IEMs I wouldn't want to lose or damage due to cost. Basically whatever you've heard/read about the discontinued 700x/m these are just a much cheaper/slightly more boring version of those.

Best Earbuds for the Price Easily
Brand new to Nuforce and before this had hear good things but just couldn't justify spending upwards of $100 on their higher end so thought I would give these a try. WOW! These are extremely lightweight and the sound is much better than I imagined they would be for the price point. I'm sure their higher end have an advantage but if you are considering upgrading and want to get a taste of the company before jumping in these are the way to go. Have had them for a while now and still as good as ever and considering I commute with them 2 hours a day and used them at my desk for music most of my workday that's amazing. Only drawback on these is they are on the light side, not a problem when they are in ear but when handling them they tend to feel a little bit on the cheap side, though for the sound quality (what they are made for right?) they rock.
