Ultimate Home Fryer for Buffalo Wings
QUICK NOTE: The TF200B is the latest model, not the TF200. I ordered the "TF200" from Amazon, but I checked with the seller first to make sure I was going to get the TF200B, which I wanted. As of the time of this review, Amazon has a separate listing for the TF200B, but the prices are higher. It was cheaper for me to purchase the "TF200" and get the TF200B than to buy the TF200B directly on the other listing. The TF200B made changes to the Rotisserie Spit, Rotisserie Cap, and Rotisserie Support. No effect to cooking buffalo wings, but it might be an improvement to rotisserie frying whole poultry. Waring (Conair) stated the TF200 performs just as well, but I'd just as well have the latest model. On to the review...For years I suffered using a 6-qt stovetop fryer to cook my wings. It only held about a 3/4-gallon of oil and it was often at risk of boiling over if there was too much moisture left in the food that was being cooked. The drop-in wire basket was a pain to clean and draining the oil for reuse was cumbersome. Plus it wasn't easy to regulate the oil temperature until I made 2 batches. OH- the worst part is that I had to go through about 5-6 batches to cook a full 10-lb bag of wings from discount stores. 16 wings per batch and it was still dangerous cooking with the oil level.Pros:- This would make an awesome wedding/shower gift for the groom! They don't want the stupid flowered bowls and plates they're going to get anyway.- Easily fit 30 wings... they were swimming laps. Next batch I cooked 49 wings- and there still was a heck of a lot of room! That was the end of the 10-lb bag of frozen wings. Next time I will cook the whole lot of them at once... just to see if I can.- The wings came out less burnt- the same level of interior cooking, but the outside color was light. It threw me off a bit cooking them, but they were done alright.- The oil container must be about 5 gal capacity-- PLENTY of room for 2.5 gal of oil to expand with heat and leave more than enough room for the initial splattering of moisture getting boiled away.- This does not splatter water all over the place from moisture when starting your frying.- Using the spigot to drain the oil is ridiculously easy. Open up and drain right back into your oil storage container. UPDATE 6/13: MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE SPIGOT BEFORE FILLING IT UP AGAIN! I must have left it partially ajar- a cup of fresh oil drained out very slowly before I even noticed.Cons:- Takes approx 45 min to bring 2.5 gal. of vegetable oil to 375°F with heat dial set to MAX. Allot plenty of time for oil heatup!- The sheet metal is a bit thin, so the edges are sharp. I have not yet cut myself, but it sure feels like it will happen-- frequently. Sharp edges all along the bottom of the unit, the lid-- basically anywhere the metal is not bent. BE CAREFUL!- There is no positive stop for the drain spigot to stay closed- a small bump and it's time for cleanup!Others:- I didn't try the rotisserie or steaming feature yet. That is just a bonus in my mind. I'll update this review after I try it out.- The ease and speed that I can now cook wings is just simply amazing. The whole family can now eat at one time, and worst case in two batches.UPDATE 6/13: So I attempted to cook 10 lbs of wings the other day in one shot. A couple of items:- The fryer easily fits 10 lbs of wings; HOWEVER, the wings started to drift downward between the tray and the sides of the oil container- towards the heating elements. When there's only 5 lbs of wings they didn't float over the edges of the basket and stayed inside.- The oil temperature dropped REALLY quick. Within 10 minutes, oil temp went down from 375° to 214°. This is not hot enough to get your wings crispy. I left the wings in the fryer for 30+ minutes-- the meat was cooked, but the skin did not get crispy. Temperature only got back up to 250° in 30 minutes. I took the wings out so the meat didn't dry out.UPDATE 12/14:- Fried a 14-lb turkey for Thanksgiving using the rotisserie. Midway one of my trusses came apart and the bird's wing caused it to be stuck in one position. I retrussed the gobbler and cooked it on the opposite side for 5 min before restarting the rotisserie. Final product came out great!- Made 10 lbs of wings yesterday. The ideal batch size is about two dozen. You'll get about 3 even batches from a 10-lb bag, they cook quicker, and don't lower the temperature as much.So while this unit can handle a lot of food, I don't recommend it. The heating elements can't keep up with a sudden drop in temperature and then you need to deal with pieces falling down over the basket edges towards the heating elements.

The Worst Purchase Ever
I purchased this in May 2013 the first 3 uses were fine which were done all in the same month, after that no good. During use it cuts off by itself for no appararent reason, I try hitting the reset button which is very small and you have to use the smallest knife to be able to push it in and and that never works.I do not recommend purchase of this product.

The absolute best turkey you will ever eat is one that has ...
We purchased this fryer two years ago and have fried turkeys four or five times, but only used as a deep fryer once. We have been deep frying turkeys for many years, but this unit does the same job with way less oil. The unit works very well after some modifications. The absolute best turkey you will ever eat is one that has been brined then fried. The brine does not have to be elaborate with twenty ingredients like most recipes. A simple brine with salt, a little brown sugar (half or less than most recommend), celery, onion, and garlic is all that is needed for a magnificent turkey. The most frustrating part of this unit is the magnetic power cord connection. It is designed to keep the unit from being pulled over by entanglement in in the cord. The magnetic plug is very weak and becomes disconnected too easily. I hard-wired the cord into the control panel and sealed the opening with silicone sealant. This invalidates the warranty, but I don't care. Don't attempt this unless you have good mechanical/electrical skills. Otherwise get someone to make this modification for you. The power cord is very short, so if it is used more than two feet from a receptacle, an extension cord is a must. Use a heavy duty extension cord due to the high wattage requirement. I wrap the cord around a fixed object to keep it from being pulled over. One other potential problem is the need to truss the turkey with cooking twine before frying. Learn to do this well because if the twine unravels or comes undone, an appendage from the turkey will stop the rotation of the rotisserie. Check it often during frying. Trussing does not affect the browning or frying time. The thing I like most about this fryer is how it all comes apart for easy cleaning. Very good design. All things considered, I would buy this item again.

Two Stars
Cleanup is not fun and extremely time consuming. The turkey was ok at best.
