The chamois thickness is just right for me. The material feels smooth and comfortable. I love how the banding is done at the bottom and feel that it nicely accommodates the fact that cyclists tend to have larger thighs. Too often I've felt constricted in the thigh band area. It's also a nice bonus that these feel fine upright as well.I go on a 50 mile bike ride every couple of weekends and always feel great during the ride. I feel comfortable at the end of these rides so I'm quite confident that these would do the trick for bit longer distances. I would highly recommend to other cyclists. I kept the Quest shorts I ordered, since they were 8 1/2" inseam (and $20 cheaper!). Besides that these shorts have much fancier styling than the Quest and aren't cut so deeply in the front.
