First Try Aced It...
I studies for about four months with this book, mainly focusing on the multiple vocabulary and grammar which ended up helping me a whole lot because most of the questions I seen in the book was almost exact in the test but worded in a different way at the end. I get nervous on tests and I can easily miss mistakes like reading "too" and seeing "to" (all cause I'm nervous and jittery) and using this book got me familiar with multiple choice and passages that try and trick you with grammatical statements that mix words up that you would normally spot had you not been placed in a pressured situation like testing.I purchased a supplement for math because the math in this book was not its best but I love this guide because if I had to guess I would say an average of about 60 - 75% of the words in this book was on this test, other words I found was also in the Barrons GRE flashcards 2nd edition and the which I used as a supplement. Don't rely solely on this book because of course it doesn't have everything. Math may require you to look at some additional examples online as I felt some of the math I never seen before and had to go off of what I already knew or what was logical based on the process of elimination. To sum it up everything in this book was good minus math. It showed long division (which was not needed at all) and some other semi-useless math operations. ONLY because the other info helped me get comfortable with the style and wording of the questions do I give it all five stars. My school suggested this book and I am pretty pleased that I gave it a chance and allowed enough time to allow absorption of the material in the book.

This Study Guide Is Very Worth It
I took the Hesi exam once without studying first and it was awful (especially math for me). I was so embarrassed since I paid for the Hesi and would have to wait to take the test again and knew I couldn’t get into the medical program I was applying for without getting a certain score on my Hesi exam. I wasn’t sure if $40 for a study guide was worth it, but it definitely was. The second time I took the Hesi I studied using the study guide as a tool and I gave myself about 3-4 months with this book since I worked full time and didn’t want to feel bogged down or rushed to know everything I needed to know well (especially math for me). I took the Hesi a second time and I was still nervous since I did so poorly the first time (because I was ill prepared) but I was definitely more confident in general after having a couple months to study hard. My studying paid off, the professor that supervised the test spoke to me after I submitted the test to review my scores and he mentioned in particular my math scores were higher than typical students. I was so glad I studied. I definitely recommend this study guide it was definitely worth it.

The book itself is pretty good but if you really want to get ready ...
I purchased this book to review for my HESI A2 exam. I bought it a couple months in advance to really prepare myself. However, that ended up not being necessary. The book itself is pretty good but if you really want to get ready for the HESI A2 I'd say invest more time in online practice tests and look up conversions on your own to study. For the school I was testing into we only covered math and english. The math section covers a great deal of basic math and you'll get a calculator on the test so you won't have to worry about much aside from knowing your conversion rates and how to deal with fractions. The practice problems and examples in this book are really good for that. The only reason I'm giving this 4/5 stars is because I think the grammar and vocab section could be more thorough. I read through them a lot to make sure I had my terminology down but some things aren't covered in this book, for example some vocab and simple predicates. Grammar may not be a big thing to some people but when I did practice tests online and was asked some questions there were somethings I didn't know because they weren't included in this text.I used this text to prepare myself for a week before I decided to schedule my exam. With this text and 4 different sites online (which had practice exams) I passed within the 90th percentile. Also, out of the four hours your given for the exam I finished within two and a half. I'd say don't mind the "Reading Comprehension" section too much, I didn't. You'll really only need to look at the tips here. OH! And familiarize yourself with arabic to roman numerals along with military time. Those two aren't a huge deal, I was only asked one question on each, but every point counts if you feel there are areas where you are a little weak.

helped tremendously
I took the Hesi last week and scored a 92 SOLEY studying from this book. I only had to take the reading comprehension, math, chemistry, vocabulary, and grammar sections. I procrastinated, and only studied hard core for 3 days. I didn't use any other books or materials, except maybe googled very few things that I needed more briefing on.There were only 2 questions on the vocabulary that were not in the review, and everything from the chemistry, math, and grammar sections were explained thoroughly in the review. I made flash cards for all the vocab, and make study guides on the other sections with material that I needed to review. Prior to the test I answered all practice questions and practice exams multiple times. There were multiple topics from every section in the review book that were on my exam that I wouldn't have even thought to study unless I looked at this book. Exact questions used in practice tests in the review book were on my exam word for word as well, so make sure you take those practice tests and questions seriously.I didn't have to test on Anatomy and Biology so I am no help there.I'm a graduating senior in college, however, so this may be why the material was very familiar for me.Good luck! I highly recommend this book to anyone taking the Hesi. You will do fine !!
