I have two hots going into my breaker box (240volts). I want to put this switch before it reaches power to the box so I can cut power completely?

Without me being able to see it, I don’t know how you would get 240 v from it. I can see how you could get 120 v from each switch but to have 240 v, I’m sorry but I don’t know the answer.

How do you attach the face plate?

If you look close at the picture you can see a screw in the knob and two black “plates.” Remove the screw and knob and then you can put a plate on either side of whatever you are installing the switch on and put the knob and screw back in.
