Paper Moon: A Novel

One of my friends reminded of an older version of Tatum's character, so I gave her the film for her birthday. Then we laughed and smiled, and enjoyed a classic that still holds up today.

This is an excellent, very well-written book. I swear it is a joy to read; I can't wait to read more pages when I get home from work. I wonder if I like it so much because it is a comedy and it keeps me laughing. I also wonder in amazement how Joe David Brown captured Southern expressions, the persona of a young girl when he is a grown man, and his extensive knowledge of con games. He has become one of my favorite authors and an example as a writing mentor.

I like the movie way better. The tv serious was terrible too

Worldly-wise yet innocent 11-year-old girl works with her con-artist "father" during the Depression. This is a classic in the long tradition of American fiction. The author masterfully creates an authentic voice that bowls the reader over. The story verges on the sappy at times, and the "con man with a heart of gold" conceit is rubbed a bit thin by the end of the book. The author also trucks out certain phrases a few too many times. But overall it's a great story filled with vividly memorable characters.A real gem of a satiric American novel.

Every Peter B. movie is a master class in cinematics and this one is no exception. Beautifully filmed, beautifully acted. I loved it in the 1970s and love it today.

You never see this flick on TV so get the DVD. It is a B&W classic.

My favorite movie and now I can watch it whenever I like.

As good as the film or do I mean the film is as good as the book? Both are superb. A book to read over and over. Funny and touching and brings to life the shots in the film.

There's something a bit odd about the pages - the printing seems squint. But the story is as charming as I remember. I don't know why this didn't become more of a classic.

This is must-have if you love the film "Paper Moon". Very similar feel with more of the plot. It's just a fun book.If you don't know the film, then find it and watch it.

Just what I wanted, not put off by the german text on the sleeve, it is in English. It is the original film. Very good.
