Love conquers all
Laura is indebted to her cousin Andy. Andy has given Laura's sister money to pay her gambling debts in exchange for the sisters to stay away from each other until the debt is paid off by Laura working as his assistant at Colton's ranch. Laura is an enabler and realises she needs to say no to her sister if there is going to be any hope of her becoming responsible for herself. Colton is a hard working rancher who has become a billionaire. Unfortunately, women are after his money. After a drugging incident, Andy and Colton's family come up with a crazy scheme to protect Colton by having Laura pretend to be his girlfriend. Andy will forgive her debt if she plays along for six months. She and Colton agree. They begin to fall for each other but her insecurities and his commitment issues get in the way. Great cast of characters. Nice storyline. Great parties and subplots.

Sloppy writing/editing and then a show of disrespect to Christian readers. Carolyn Brown books aren't for me!
I was so looking forward to this first book in a series by an author who's new to me, but highly recommended. I was severely disappointed. The first indication that this book was not for me occurred when a character repeated the same conversation two pages apart. It wasn't a major plot device, just sloppy writing or editing or both. Then the author made two references to the crucifixion in a joking way. That set my teeth on edge. It showed a lack of respect for Christian readers. I kept reading through the first reference. After the second one, I decided this book (and the three others in the series) were going to my book donation box. It was a lesson learned. Don't buy all four books in a series if I've not read the author before.

Marriage of...?
A farce becomes a real relationship and the couple involved couldn't be more surprised. The rest of the cast of characters fits the Brown mold so well.

WOW....JUST WOW..YOU WILL UNDERSTAND LATER.
Not your usual romance novel. I do not read romance as the norm , however, I was intrigued by this storyline. This book is written with depth and character...with a lot of love scenes but not all the bodice ripping. It is a good read and not easily put down for the night. Also. it is a believable tale that could happen in the real world...worth the price and more.....makes you want to be a lottery winner yourself.

The story held my interest off and on. I skipped over some of it as I felt it was too wordy. My memory isn't too good, especially when I have gone on to another book. I enjoy the larger print I can get with kindle. I hesitate reading that author again.

Good Read
I like Carolyn Brown's cowboy books, they're my not-so-guilty pleasure :). This one started off a little...I don't known how to describe it other than to say I thought "oh no, this isn't going to be as good". But, it turned out to be a pretty good story. I don't know if it was my mood, or just a little different beginning than this author usually writes, but as the characters developed, they have depth and I like how a group of lonely individuals built a family. I recommend this book, just ignore my take on the first couple of chapters. You may see them completely different. But, if the first couple of chapters do seem a little slow, hang in there! the story definitely picks up.

Escape & lose yourself in the world of Carolyn Brown.
Only recently discovered this author but love much of her work. I prefer contemporary romance so am selective about the range but this is where the previews help me in deciding what might appeal. However, this was the 23rd book I have read by this author & I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a gentle romance involving complex characters & relationships. A great feel good story to lose yourself in.

Brilliant
I'm in love with the Spikes & Spurs series. The women are all feisty and the men are sometimes stubborn but always sexy. Carolyn Brown will have you giggling in places, ready to cry or want to reach in and shake someone and say "what are you doing". Her writing style just put you right in the middle of the story from the frist page.
