90’s Nostalgia Unleashed!
Super fun and nostalgic toy, has a huge range of digimon to raise! This is my second one I’ve bought in a week, I highly recommend getting at least one due to there being different digimon on different coloured devices and being able to battle with friends!

Son loves it but it dies too quickly
Son lives this but I'm now left to care for it during the day otherwise it's dead by the time he comes home.... Such pressure to step up as a psuedo grandparent!

Nostalgia at its best only with added features!
Having gotten the original ones back in the day, I was pleased to see that they re-released them albeit I was a little late, as I missed the 20th anniversary and the first two waves! Compared to the older ones (v1 and V2) You have to put your name in at the start and the time, there's a decent roster of monsters from each version that you hatch, grow and train to be the best battlers and strongest monsters. You can also train two Digimon at the same time, making tag matches a thing. There is a journal feature, to keep track of each monster you have trained, there is a extra growth tier to Mega digivolve through a process called Jogress. You can send a copy of the monster you trained to a friend and vice versa and once you tag battled with the copy 5 times, you can fuse the monsters into a new one. There is a fight feature if one doesn't have another Digimon and so you can gain victories with the game's inbuilt monsters. There are two secret eggs one can acquire and involves linking with five or more Digimon with different trainer names. Or you can get a second one or find a friend that is willing to stop and rename their device name several times in order to get the same result. Remember to give them a different name though or it won't count. I have to wait for my second one to arrive so I can see what monsters I can battle...and also to get those eggs!Again to get different Digimon you have to experiment with different factors such as care mistakes (no more than 4 per 'stage' or it will die) training and feeding (and you have to redo that after each digivolution.) To morph your monster pal into many forms when it's time to digivolve.

DIGI-DESTINED!
Absolutely phenomenal piece of hardware. So much much caring, training and battling with your favourite digimon. In a world where being a Pokemon fan has become stale and boring, this delivers on what you have been missing. The diversity of monsters to befriend as well as the closeness and friendship you feel for these little guys is just breathtaking. Never have I loved Digimon as much as with one of these digivice! Also being glow in the dark is a big plus.

I’m converted
Not even a big Digimon fan, but I like Tamagotchis, so I thought I’d give this a go. Play with it all the time now and I’m gonna collect a few more. It’s a simple digital pet, and it brings simple joy, but lots of it. 10/10

Glow in the dark feature is a gimmick, a simple backlight would be a welcomed & cheap feature to add
Glow in the dark feature is a gimmick, a simple backlight would be a welcomed & cheap feature to add.Aside from that it's an excellent little VPet, with a great selection of eggs. The only other complaints I'd have is the lack of a freeze feature, which the Digimon X has, and the fact that you have to own multiple versions or have friends with different 20th anniversary versions in order to unlock half of the eggs.If they added a backlight to make the glow in the dark feature more than a gimmick and added a freeze function I'd have given this 5 stars.
