Great End Result but Steps Need to Be Taken to Ensure God End Result
I am a professional and have been using a system like this for several years. This product produces a beautiful end result but can be temperamental. Be sure to sand thoroughly, using a little bit of soap in the wet-sanding water, and work your way from a coarse grit, like 220, to a fine grit 1500. The soap and the wet sanding help to ensure no sand scratches visible in the final product. Do not do HEAVY coats! A quick tack coat, followed by a moderate end coat will give you great results. Applying too much will cause cloudiness, and may leave you with an orange-peel like finish. Trick, if applying outside, heat lens with a hairdryer before applying tack coat. If the ambient temperature is too cool, this will result in cloudy headlights.

SEM headlight topcoat best yet!
This is the best headlight restoration kit topcoat I have used. After cleaning with (SEM Soap 39362), wet sanding and cleaning headlights with (SEM plastic prep 38353) prior to application as outlined by SEM will provide desirable results. The downside is the UV cure lamp but I have successfully followed SEM's preparation of headlights for topcoat and instead of the UV light set them facing the sun on a warm day after the topcoat has flashed without any negative results.

Good product
Pros:Follow the instructions very closely. Clean the surface of the headlight VERY well, I used the 3M restoration kit and used EVERY SINGLE disc on my headlights for the best appearance. Then apply a cleaner, clean the headlight WELL - Spotless - Clean with a soft blast of compressed air if need be and I kept the headlight body wrapped in a wet towel to combat static electricity. Static electricity WILL make every little bit of dust in the air want to stick to the headlight after you have polished it, cleaned it, and buffed it dry.MAKE SURE you have a sufficient UV light - I used one of the 36W salon nail curing lamps with the bottom removed to expose the lamps - It enough to cure this coating, but small enough that I had to reposition the headlight a couple times during the curing to make sure all surfaces were sufficiently exposed. If you follow the instructions closely and are very OCD about it, you will get a very nice result.CONS:If you mess up at all, expect imperfections that will be permanently part of the headlight lens (at least until you go and try to sand it all off again, and don't expect it to be as easy as the first time!).THIS COATING WILL COME OFF IF YOU GET A PRESSURE WASHER TOO CLOSE. I have not had this problem with other coatings (such as clear coat). It's always a good idea not to get a pressure washer (like at the do-it-yourself car wash) too close to any paint, especially if there are imperfections that the water could shoot under and lift. In my case, I got close to a headlight only once (maybe 2" away) and it stripped the coating right off in that spot. This should not have been enough to remove it; I went back to the same carwash with my other car which has clear coat on the headlights and tested it, and this did not happen, so I reduced rating to 2 stars. I used the SEM plastic prep and followed all instructions closely, so it should not have been related to my handiwork.
