Hoover HivesFully Assembled Original Bees Wax Coated 10 Frame Langstroth Beehive (2 Deep Boxes, 1 Medium Box)

This is a very nice hive. This is the 3rd one that we have purchased from Galena. We splurged on this one as it came assembled because we needed it quickly...and assembly is a time consuming bear-to save you some time, two words: heat gun! There was an error in the process-we received a 10 frame deep and a 10 frame super, but the other deep was an 8 frame (along with the inner cover, lid, bottom board, etc.) which fit nothing that we have. Galena was very responsive-provided a shipping label to return the 8 frame kit within minutes. The correct hive was received by us within days. The hives seem to be very solid and I love the wax coating. I think (hope) they will last a long time!

Pretty disappointed that with the money spent on this product I did not recieve entire box set up as described. Only received medium brood box, assuming it is a starter kit. I will have bees coming with a home that is not fully put together. Can someone pmease help me with this issue?

Update: have ordered 3 of these now , all have arrived assembled and with no issues.This hive is perfect, no need to paint since its covered in beeswax, very well built and solid. I will order another for sure this week . I am new to beekeeping and have no other hives to compare to but for my first hive, I couldn't be more pleased with the quality ,look and function.

First of all, I purchased two ASSEMBLED hives. They mostly met my expectations with regard to quality and assembly. There was one loose dovetail requiring a nail and one small section of split wood on a bottom board rail, not a big deal to pop some nails in. I think the dovetail was probably a shipping issue, as there was little padding in the boxes. Most of the foundations were loose from the frames and had to be popped in. Again, not a big deal, compared to assembling two entire hives from scratch. I think one reviewer included a photo of some lumps in the wax finish, which I had on a bottom board. I read up on the manufacturer's site and it says they are dipped in parafin and then in bee's wax. So makes sense there could be some dried drips. I can't think why it matters as these are bee hives, not works of art. It is just important that they are well covered. All of the above are the only issues I had. These are the best I found for the price vs. quality, compared to much higher priced hives available locally that still must be painted vs. some really cheaply built online options. The other factor is that these include 2 deeps compared to some with only 1, as well as the whole package of queen excluder, entrance reducer, vented top board and metal covered telescoping top cover.

This is a scam product! There are no amish in china! No instructions, no packaging, broken pieces and awful smell from product!

Could have been a hit, but it's not. The hive is stapled together, sloppily. So, for example, frames fell apart in shipping and staples are misdriven to stick through the outside of the hive bodies. Two out of ten waxed cell foundations had fallen out completely and few were very secure. Not a fan.
