Nicely made, but …
A little small for large hands, edge of handle is not sharp enough to cut, but should have been rounded smooth so as not to dig into fingers.Extensive routing needed to install flush with surface.

Not easy to install and not heavy duty
A previous reviewer noted that while not much of a woodworker he had no issues installing these countersunk handles. I disagree. To install properly it takes a good woodworker and good tools. Done properly it is a two-level routing job. First, the entire square pattern must be relieved by about 1/8" then, in the center of that depression, you need to remove a D-shaped chunk of wood down about another 3/8". No pattern is included to help with this task. This requires considerable finesse with a bottom-cutting router bit and a good sharp woodworking chisel to clean the corners. This IS NOT a heavy-duty handle. I would start sweating were I to lift more than about 20 pounds. The handle is secured with four short # 6 Screws. The handle is pinned at each side with small pins and the handle lies loosy-goosy inside its recess. It is not a marvel of modern engineering design. The price is right for what you get. I will use the handles I purchased but they will be embedded in epoxy and longer screws will be used in my thicker 3/4" marine-grade plywood. For the occasional use, they should do the job.

Nice nautical additon to our boat.
My niece lost the anchor hatch cover and I made a new one.The pull handle needed to be recessed so people could sit on it and wouldn't trip over it.Getting this recessed pull handle to fit using my router was not a breeze but I made some paper templates and taped them securely to the wood and cut right through the paper. I used a 1/4" down-cut spiral router bit I cut the deep section first and then the shallow section. The router made nice square interior corners with very straight walls and a very flat floor. The deep sections was horseshoe shaped and was about .400".The shallow section was a rectangle that was about .130"The corners were cut carefully with a razor blade and a very sharp chisel. It turned out better than people who know my woodworking skill level would have expected.I was pleased. It needed a little adjustments but it turned out pretty well.I filled the space with clear silicone adhesive caulk before I screwed it into place. The caulk was to keep water out of the space. If it breaks and needs to be replaced, it will still come out of the space, That adhesive is good and water tight but flexible and will let go if you pull hard enough. This is a good, solid, Real Stainless (non magnetic) product for a very fair price.
