It's awesome!
My interior is so much quieter than using a typical window AC but the app needs to be looked at and updated. Scheduling the AC unit switches the fan speed to 80%. I have to keep manually switching the fan speed to 100%. I just confirmed today it was the scheduling function doing that. Something to keep in mind if you get this unit. It's blowing ice cold and not having issues others are having but a room I need it in most is far away so I need that fan pumping on all cylinders! Got it renewed and I haven't had any issues with that fact. Plug it in on a table to test it out before you throw it into the window. It's not gonna dump enough water to matter just to check it works before you install it. That's what I did.

THE BEST WINDOW A/C EVER
I bought a Toshiba window 6000 BTU a/c from Home Depot, it sounded like a Boeing 707 so its getting returned. I ordered this Midea window A/C and it was well worth the wait. Easy to install, super quiet- no more turning up the sound level on the TV to hear over a noisy A/C. Control panel is easy to read even without glasses, it doesn't light up the room at night like the Toshiba. The body design is clean and much safer with the single hung window sliding down between the unit. A couple of minor improvements: I wish it included a small drain hose to divert the condensation away from the window sill and wall of the house and the company should include a metal guard frame to protect the delicate outside cooling fins. Finally, I had a good quiet night sleep in 100 degree plus weather. For a window A/C it boasts a high seer rating- I will see if its reflected in my utilities bill.Highly recommend this product- its worth the money.

Impressed yet problems, crazy quiet, weak fan, defects a plenty, install stand bad, remote bad YMMV
UPDATE 2023-07-14:OK, its now full hot season in Chicago. I've used it daily for a couple months and continue to learn more about this machine. First the state it gets in with the louver waving at you appears to be a feature described as "Swing" on the remote. Trying disable it is much easier at the unit but when you click the button it just stops the louver and doesn't return it to fully open. Crazy. Really obvious this company isn't real knowledgeable in user interface and a/c in general at this point. The split U is still cool and crazy quiet but the other defects are piling up. The remote and the unit get out of sync all the time. Sometimes on next click they resync. Often they just do not. Cycle power is best I've found. But I'll warn you it powers up in most any mode it wants. It forces "Eco" mode all the time which pretty much means it will or may blow air but will turn off the cooling. It does this way too often. I'm constantly turning off "Eco". It might save some $ but it is doing it poorly and I'm hot too often. The naming on remote vs. naming on the unit are not consistent and will confuse you. There is some kind of lock on 23 buttons of the remote but I've not figured them out yet. Bad design at best. The remote will often just jump into Celsius mode when you are moving the temp up or down. You then click the C/Fahrenheit button to undo this. This button is one of the ones which "lock". Where is that damn manual ? The display and lettering on the unit are hard to read. The remotes back lit LED is off more than it is on. Saves batteries and aggravates the user. Still haven't had time to get it going with Alexa but after seeing the crazy bad remote and feature design here I can't imaging the Alexa integration is going to go well. Last I'll repeat again, the fan is weak even on high. I have a Vornado fan in front of it which I turn on and off when I want to move air in the room. The combo of this unit and that fan works pretty well. Again and in closing, I've used far worse units that this one but I've used far better. I have never used a quieter one. YMMV.ORIGINAL:I wanted to love this. The design is GREAT for the U shaped install. It is crazy quiet. The fan is weak at best. The remote is slow to communicate with the unit. The remote and the display on unit OFTEN out of sync. I haven't tried Alexa or the app yet but will. It gets stuck regularly in this mode where it seems to stop cooling like it has gone below the setting temperature and stops cooling the air and compressor stops yet the air is still getting pushed by fan and the air supply cover thingy which opens and shuts starts going up and down like it starts to go off and closet then it gets about a 1/4 of the way and it opens and it cycles like this forever. Only way I've found to get it out of this is to turn power on and off. It works sometimes it does not others.I can predict when it gets in this state as all of a sudden you will feel warm and look over. It is so quiet you are not sure it is on but it is. The temp in room is climbing but it is not cooling the room. If you walk over to the unit it will be in the mode where the louver on the air supply is stuck in a loop kind of waving at you. This happens with my unit now several times a day. I'm ready to call for warrantee service or see if we can software update this thing and fix it. It is dumb defect and I don't see how they ship with this. All this said, it is really quiet. The U shape design I predict will replace all the others very quickly. Too many work from home zoom calls for the old school noisy ACs. This thing is crazy quiet. Unfortunately I have to run a fan in front of it to distribute the air cause the fan is completely lacking even on hight. On low there is almost zero air put out.Forgot to mention the stand which comes with it. Great idea. Implemented much better in others which you can buy alone. I used the one I bought here on Amazon for the last AC and took the one which came with unit and threw it away quickly. Its complexity and directions where completely useless. I use the one you can find here on Amazon (Top Shelf TSB-2438 Universal Heavy Duty Window Air Conditioner AC Support Bracket) works fabulous with most any AC unit I throw on it.It isn't the worst AC I've ever bought and is far from the best. It IS THE QUIETEST. If they'd fix some of the defects and put a better fan in it, this could be a great unit. I still give it 4 cause I'm using it despite its shortcomings. YMMV.

Ingenuity At Its Best!
My husband installed a mini-split for three rooms in our home. For the other rooms, he came across this window AC unit that seemed perfect for our home. Install was actually pretty easy to follow. There are plenty of YouTube tutorials if you get stuck, but really, other than the weight of the unit making it harder for some installers, this was relatively easy. It has kept the rooms well cooled and has an eco setting which I love. The remote is very easy to navigate. I set it at 76 for summers that get over 100 quite often here. It is so quiet, I never heard it running, but the room was kept at a cool and comfortable 76 degrees.

Tough fit!
The overall installation instructions are for the birds. What they send you with the unit requires the vision of an eagle to see it. There are installation videos too, but be forewarned. Just because a video pops up when you scan that QR code today, doesn't mean you'll get thw same video tomorrow! We also found that you need to play with the placement before you drill any holes to secure the bracket. As it turns out, otherwise, you're likely to have to remove those screws and find another place to secure the bracket. Following the instructions, our AC say too high off the window sill and created a gap. The unit comes with 2 foam sides, one for each side of the unit, to help seal between the window and window sill. Only one of them will fit, once I trim it. The other looks like it has already been shortened and it's too small to fit my installation. I've been working on fashioning a replacement in my spare time, which I don't have. In the meanwhile, we're without an AC despite delivery a week ago.

A pain to install but then the "Wows" come.
Installation is very involved. Read the instructions carefully as there are several steps to mess it up and have to redo.Once installed though, this AC is amazing. It's super quiet, looks fantastic, Alexa compatible and pushes out VERY cold air. This was a replacement for our old 8k BTU unit and it outperforms it by a mile. After seeing it, several friends and family have said they have to buy one. Great purchase!
