First purchase of this type of rail. Needed to keep elderly mom from rolling out of bed. Constructed very well with quality materials. Easy assembly. NOTE that you're required to provide 2 pieces of plywood (or similar material). Everything included, even neccessary tools. Very pleased with purchase and manufacturer. I put this together in less than 30 minutes, fortunately I had the perfect pieces of wood in storage. Easy to operate, strong and safe! Works great. No more of my wife rolling off bed.

The first one was badly damaged but the box it was packed in was not damaged at all. I suspect the factory was responsible, not the seller. It was promptly replaced and the new one works fine. It can be raised and lowered easily by the bed occupant. Best arrangement seems to be with the rail slightly lower than the mattress when in the down position. The larger the base the more stable it is. I used a 2ft x 4ft piece of 1/2 inch plywood.

I got two separatepieces of plywood 7/8 thick... WARNINGTHE SCREWS for the brackets or flat headment for a countersunk hole. I mounted thebrackets on two separate pieces of plywood.EASIER TO HANDLE. PUT A GOOD QUALITYTAPE OVER THE SCREWHEADS SO THEY DONTCUT INTO THE MATTRESS MATERIAL. If youare a hany man buy panhead phillips toreplace the flathead ment for a countersunk screw.I put the latch on the end near my feet. I canstill reach it with my hand.It will latch !!! Mine didnt til I worked it andlatched and unlatched it. I clicked into the latchposition after the 5 th time.NOT FOR FOLDING BEDS OR NON HANDYPEOPLE. After I got it attached to the bed Iraised the rail while watching TV.... I woke anhour later from a short nap ( daytime TV stinks)and realized I hadnt fallen out of bed.Mine did not have directions for assembly.HAVE YOUR OWN TOOLS FOR ASSEMBLY.The ones supplied are too small for use onanything harder than frozen butter.

While this is sold to be used for adults, I happen to find this excellent for my son’s bed. I went with the red to make it look fun , love the option to open and close it when not in use. I looked for kids railing and they are double the price. Note the bottom needs to be screw into wood. For me this was not a problem since my son’s bed was a wood platform. It was very easy to put together. Looks great too and sturdy.

Rail seems to function ok, but the tools sent to assemble it are a joke. Having said that, most folks would have a wrench and screwdriver to do the job. More of an issue is the included screws and the nut and bolt. The screws were too short and didn't really hold the metal straps onto the plywood. Also, the bolts had no washers which unnecessarily stress the rails where they are mounted. There were no included lock washers to keep the bolt from backing off which could create a dangerous situation over time. I rectified all this with $4 spent at a big box hardware store. The actual mounting job was a piece of cake.I ordered two rails, one of which was damaged. Amazon took the return no problem.The rails look ok and go up and down without issue. I'd have given four stars if the included hardware had been sufficient,

I was very pleased to find bedrails that have a cherry wood look to them. They go very well with our cherry wood furniture. The most important thing is that it is a great safety feature for seniors.

Although I was not able to get the size I wanted (47 x 18 inches), I was able to adapt the height of the bed railing (from 10 to 18 inches) to my bed height, which worked out even better than I expected. So far, so good - it is sturdy on the bed, and have recommended to family and friends. So far, no regrets! Easy to set up, easy to use on a daily basis.
