Not a shinning example at all
I bought 2 sets of these. The sets seem well made and appear waterproofInitially the lights worked just fine and looked nice.BUTWith brand new batteries installed in both sets, and with both set on to the standard timer ( 6 hrs on - 18 hrs off), after just day 3, both sets were very noticeably much dimmer, in fact barely visible at night,by day 4 in both sets, the batteries were completely exhausted. Not a lot of point in having an auto timer facility if you have to replace the batteries and reset the units every couple of days.Contemplating return as not really fit for purposeTherefore, sorry, but rubbish.Up Date : Decided to persevere (just in case it was my fault for using the most expensive batteries. Therefore I sent off for a couple of sets of High Capacity Ni-MH batteries & charger.)So in great expectation, I put in brand new fully charged batteries. After 2 days one set packed up completely ( its dead). The other set is barely visible now after just 3 days on the timer.( just like the original disposable batteries).I fully expect the barely visible set will be completely invisible by tonight, so they are going back tomorrow. I've more than tried my best with them, but I've had enough.

Not 3x AA batteries. 3x C batteries instead.
I love these lights but Amazon are advertising the wrong lights, compared to the ones sent out.It says 3x AA batteries but they take 3 x C batteries.I put batteries in around the 18th of December and mine are still as bright, running 6-8 hours a night, on the 31st January. They’re great outdoor lights. Worth the £18 I paid for 400, especially in hard to reach areas in the garden, where we can’t get electricity too.Amazon do need to change the description though on this page.

Item received different to one advertised
I ordered these ready for Christmas 2019. The one here states that it take 3 AA batteries the one I received take 4. The one here states lastfor 60 hours , the one I received says it lasts for 30 hours !! and came in a completely different box .I have tried them for a couple of days just to check timer . They seem ok . Having read some of the comments about battery life .. it does state on this box that Alakaline batteries must be used .. something not in this description . I don’t think the one I purchased are the ones advertised ..

Very convenient set of small but bright lights.
We used this product on a small outside Christmas tree. It made an excellent display, and we were spilt for choice for flashing programmes, we just stuck with the first one which gave a lot of variation. You would probably want more than one set on a large tree, but running on batteries saved all the hassle of providing power outside. And much better than the solar powered set we had bought that only worked after a sunny day, which are thin on the ground at Christmas time. One thing to watch out for, there is a little rubber plug or rod that connects the external push button to the internal switch. While opening the package ours dropped on the floor and nearly got lost, so watch out for it and open carefully.

Excellent set of battery powered lights.
Can't fault them for indoor use. I haven't tried them outside in damp conditions, but the battery compartment does seem to have a gasket to seal out water. However, the control button goes through the case, and might let in water. If I was using it outside, I'd pop the control box in a plastic bag with a wire tie closing it.I haven't had them long enough to test the timer, but the modes seem to all work, and all the LEDs light. They are bright, much brighter than I was expecting for a battery powered set - enough to easily show up in a well-lit office. The length is a bit over 10m from the control box to the last light. And at 10cm/4" between lights, they look good.

I wanted some lights to decorate a bush in my front garden and found these. They are just what I was looking for. Suitable for outdoors, battery operated so no mains leads to worry about, simple timer. 8 light sequences, several different size sets. Just the job but don't underestimate your needs. I order a set with 100 lights but, for the size of bush, it was way too small. I bought another set and was torn between having another with 110 or 200. I chose the one with 200. Next year I will put the 200 set on first, if needed I can add the other 100. If not needed I can use the other 100 somewhere else.

Pleased with purchase.
Lovely lights. We have them outside, timer works brilliantly. Come on by themselves at the same time every day and switch off 6 hours later. Had them for around a week, still as bright as the first day (good quality batteries) We’ve put the battery pack inside a strong sandwich bag and placed inside the conifer where it’s dry. Been outside in wind and rain and hasn’t affected them at all.The red lights are a little duller than the rest but still look nice. All the functions work but we just have them steady on. The cord is green so you can barely see it during the day, which is great, no ugly looking wires!

Great Value
We put two sets of these lights on an outside Christmas tree ( 4ft high ) and set them on combination. Each set was turned on with a slight delay approx. 30 seconds deliberately so that both sets were at different points in the program. Looked great !! One set of batteries has lasted all Christmas. Battery box/Contoller, although laid on damp soil and a lot of rain fell during the time, remained dry inside. Very pleased with the purchase. Timer function worked very well, didn't have to go out at 11.00pm to turn them off !!
