Ok for shoes
Can’t say how well it worked because my shoes breathe on top but can say it probably worked somewhat good they never went in the spray bottle is probably the best although like I said my shoes breathe I would say 50-50 may work better on other running shoes or just shoes in general.

UPDATE: So far so good…
UPDATE (Original review below)The last photo added was after the spray was completely dry AND I brushed it with a suede push to bring back that suede “feel & look.” I LOVE it. As you can so, it certainly darkened the the original suede carmel color to a rich brown. Not nearly as dark as when first applied which was a more of a farce chocolate brown. Now, it’s perfect. I don’t mind as I knew it would and it ended up matching my jacket and boots better anyway. When the waterproofing is tested, I’ll be sure to update again.Original ReviewI must have read hundreds of reviews on 8-10 various waterproofing products. Shield H2O won the review test for me. Here is what I was looking for:1) Effectiveness of waterproofing2) Ease of use3) How long the product lasts between treatments4) How much it would change the color/texture of Uggs like suede material5) Previous customer’s experience6) A reputable company that stands behind their product. Who hasn’t heard of Rust-Olem?7) CostSo far, it has lived up to all of my expectations and then some after the first application. I attached some photos and a time lapsed vid of the drying (10 minutes). Very little change so this stuff take a long time to dry. I also took a photo with my hat in the background of the gloves to give a before and after of the color of the suede previously. They are made by the same manufacturer and are a set. Here is what I can tell you you so far. REMINDER, the pics are 5 MINUTES AFTER applying the first heavy “wet” coat. It is dark but that is expected as the DIRECTIONS say to let dry 24hrs before use. I am sure it will lighten up some but this product will darken a few shades depending on amount sprayed. I used a heavy wet coat for waterproofing and don’t mind the darker look even if they never get lighter after drying. I’m a dude so it just isn’t a deal breaker. Being waterproof is.The usage was super easy. I used an old Amazon box to spray the gloves in as I wore them. Stretching the seams a little to allow the product to soak in where water may enter. After that, I stood each up to dry on a calk tube. Easy breezy up and peezy…I will update once they have dried 24+ hours with new photos…

Uggs and Sorel’s are Protected
First time user of Never Wet. I spend way too much money on Uggs, Vans, and Converse for my wife and daughters, so I want to protect all this stuff for longevity. Over the years, I’ve used Kiwi, Crepe, and Ugg brand aerosol sprays. To me, they all seem to do the same job and I have no complaints other than the can goes to quick when spraying boots and sneakers. So, the Never Wet...Kind of a strong smell when spraying it, but I was in the basement so it didn’t matter to me. Quite a bit of overspray because of how the bottle works, I used a 2 ft X 3 ft piece of cardboard to set the shoes on and it was covered (very wet) by the time I was done with the shoes. That’s not a show stopper for me, but that’s what I experienced and the reason for the (4) star rating. Too much wasted product in my opinion. The spray bottle was surprisingly small to me when it arrived, but it did go a long way. It sprays just like a bottle of Windex or Fantastic, squeeze the lever and out it sprays. I sprayed horizontal, as if using spray paint. I held the bottle about 10 inches away from the shoes and used a back and forth pattern. No problems with the product spraying from the bottle. I sprayed a new pair of black Ugg boots and covered them until wet, but not soaked. A couple of squeezes of the lever is plenty. You can see it cover the boots as you spray. The product was clear / white on the black Uggs when sprayed, it’s just the color of the product, no worries. I sprayed one boot and then the other. Then I immediately went back and sprayed the boots again at the sole / suede seam. Again, one squeeze will easily do on side of the sole / suede seam. Next I did another pair of Tan Ugg boots the same way, they got a bit darker when sprayed, but I expected this. I also sprayed (2) pairs of Sorel Caribou boots. One pair had chocolate brown leather tops and the other light tan. I sprayed both the rubber boot section and the leather tops with (2) light coats, just like I did on the Uggs. Then I sprayed white Converse high tops with (2) coats. The bottle seemed to feel fairly empty at this point. I was happy the small bottle went so far. The directions say to wait 24 hours to fully cure. I walked away and came back in 5 hours and everything was dry with little to no smell. So I moved all the shoes upstairs to cure the remaining time. None of the boots or shoes were discolored from the product. When dry, the light tan looked the same to me. If it was darker, I couldn’t tell and neither could my wife and daughters. I was pleased with this. After the 24 hour dry time, they started wearing them. They take care of their Uggs and don’t slosh thru salty winter puddles here in New England. Having said that, the snow and drizzle beaded up on them much better than any of the other sprays I mentioned earlier. It was very impressive. Same for the Sorel’s. The rubber part of the Sorel boots beaded up and kept the water off. The Converse canvas sneakers seem to wipe clean easily with this product. Overall I like the protection of the Never Wet, I like how it is applied, and will continue to use this product. I think it provides better protection than the other aerosol products I used in the past.
