.com Milight is an album vaguely about the future, peppered with commentary on the subject from Krush's collaborators, of which there are many. Producers DJ Cam and Shawn J. Period; rappers Mos Def, Rino, Tragedy, Ken "Duro" Ifill, and Fista Bundy; and vocalists Deborah Anderson and Eri Ohno add their voices and noises to Krush's metronomic beats and free-jazz scratching. The combination works particularly well on his collaborations with Mos Def ("Shinjiro") and Eri Ohno ("Mind Games," a John Lennon cover), but the album is interesting and consistent throughout. On his third album, DJ Krush has finally found a middle ground between his dark and minimal beat structures and the pop sensibilities of commercial hip-hop, losing the virtues of neither. --Matthew Corwine

DJ KRUSH IS BOMB
This is another sweet KRUSH album while it is not my favorite I still love what he does and would buy anything with his name on it.

DJ Krush - Milight
DJ Krush uses answering machine recordings and interviews of fellow producers and musicians on MILIGHT, but the style is still all Krush's own. The mellow beats are in full-effect, even as the furious Japanese rapping patters atop of "Shin-Sekai" or the English spitting on "Tragedy." But the birds chirping on the quiet and melancholy "Jugoya" have much more impact, to my ears, as does the abstract vibraphone jazz of "Listen." DJ Cam's able French touch extends "Le Temps" into a horn-inflected meditation, borrowing an extended sample from Cam's track "Angel Dust." Mos Def adds a nice funk party vibe to "Shinjiro" and "Light (Can You See It?)," while Eri Ohno adds a soulful vibe to the spare "Mind Games." Deborah Anderson rounds out the album with her vocals on "Skin on Skin," a track that veers towards Portishead territory but without totally going there. MILIGHT shimmers, but doesn't quite shine.

Great trip-hop album!
Milight is a wonderful album for trip-hop enthusiasts. DJ Krush has a great way of mixing minimal sound effects for maximum impact. The bass and sound mixing in this album is nearly flawless and has the best audio mix and sound of any of his albums to date. My favorite track is "Jugoya" which means literally the 15th night, marks the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar (which is usually mid or late September for our calendar) and is a deep and resonent sounding instrumental. The instrumental pieces are quite good but I find his collaborations with American Rappers to be mundane as the rappers lyrics are mediocre at best. Overall this is a great Trip-Hop Album.

Great international Hip Hop
DJ Krush's Milight is a wonderful hip hop recording. While there is fantastic MC work done in both English and Japanese, the focus of this album is still those amazing beats. DJ Krush seems to possess a talent in Hip Hop that I don't think I hear out of many DJ's. Not only does he have one great beat, but an arsenal of many. He likes to mix a little jazz in there too. If you like him check out DJ CAM and DJ FOOD, two of my other favorite hip hop DJ's.

This is the best DJ Krush album
Millight is the best Krush album out there. It has the perfect balance of ambient and hip hop. Perfect production and it's quite lengthly. The speeches in between each track from the collaborating artist in my opinion add to the international flavor of the album. Minimalist at its' finest.Impressive. Standout tracks are Le Temps, Skin Against Skin, Jikan No Hashi 2, and Jugoya. Don't be fooled though, the rest is fantastic.Highly recommended.

krush cuts it up
I own two dj krush albums, Milight and Kakusei, both excellent pieces of instrumental hip-hop. But for sheer pleasure you can't beat the experience of his turntable skills in front of a live audience. I checked him out last year in a small club in Copenhagen and his performance was intense. Also his attitude towards the crowd was a sight to behold. He came on to the stage without a word and started spinning and left an hour and a half later bowing to show us his respect! If you ever get the chance to see Nippon's premier dj (along with Honda) be theeere!

this is a good cd!!i was thinkin that it would have more instrumentals then songs with differents artist singing on it, it has 28 tracks on it, and i say that 20 out of the 28 are good, becuz there are alot of things that should not have been in there, but overall it is a very good cd!!!
