Big Joe Original Bean Bag Chair, Sapphire

Well, What had happened with this bean bag is a long story, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. It caused much drama in my life. I ordered this 2 years ago, and it shipped to Hawaii no problem. It was the best thing for boat trips ever. I get taken on fishing trips which are amazing, but sometimes, or always start way to early. This bean bag was the best thing ever to sleep on. It was amazing. I even brought in inside my home, and it was the best thing is sit on and watch tv, because you could move it into so many different positions, and it was always comfortable. I even caught my dog snuggling up on it, and she loves comfort! So long story short, the bean bag flew off the boat heading to the dock, and got run-over, and it didn't survive. I didn't witness the accident, but I am sure with regular use it wouldn't have exploded like that. Just don't leave it in the driveway, maybe. Since the incident, ive tried to reorder, but no one will ship to hawaii. I recently went to the mainland for 10 days and ordered this bag again, and was going to bring it back as my luggage, and surprise my boyfriend for his birthday. But the bean bag arrived the day after I left. It was scheduled to arrive a day before, but fedex does not deliver on Mondays I guess. Now its at my friends house in LA. She didnt really want it, but once she opened it and her some got to love it, she is keeping it, and the 2 year old loves to run and jump on it. So happy ending for the bean bag, sad ending for me and the boat. But, if you live on the mainland, 5 stars, get this product. If you live in Hawaii, they don't want us to have fun things, don't get your hopes up..... If someone wants to fly out and bring this to me, that would be cool too!

I want to start by saying that I did NOT receive this product for free or a discounted price. I simply needed a bean bag chair and chose this one and paid full price. This is just my honest experience with this product; I hope it helps!I bought this for my son so that he could lay on the floor in our spare room and watch TV. I never viewed bean bag chairs as all that great, but this one has impressed me. First, it's huge. When laid flat on the floor, it takes up a large part of the free space in our over-sized spare room. It's as wide as a twin mattress. Second, I LOVE the fabric it's covered with. It is very thick and durable. Think of the fabric covering of nice patio furniture- it's like that. It is not plush or fleece-y, but I actually find that a plus because that makes it very easy to scrub with a damp washcloth to get spills or dirt out. My son is 9 and often sneaks snacks and juice boxes into the spare room and he is NOT very tidy (we call him "the unstealthiest ninja") and yet, thanks to this type of fabric, it still looks new even though we have had it for about 9 months now.Another great thing about it is that you can squish it and shape it however you want so you can lay on it like a bed, or sit on it like a chair, or lounge in it like a hammock (turn it on its long side and squish the seam down in the middle), or anything in between. Oh, and I am 5'8" and weigh 250 lbs (AKA "a big girl") and I sit in it far often than I thought I would because its so friggin' comfortable. My husband is 5'10" and weighs a deal more than me and even HE says its comfortable and will often pull it into the living room and play video games while sitting on it instead of the sofa.It came with the perfect amount of bean stuffing. When I first pulled it out of the box, I didn't think it seemed as full as it could be. But once you sit on it, you realize how perfect it is. It can't be stuffed to the brim, otherwise you can't shape it. It's the perfect amount of stuffing for my son, my 13-month-old daughter, and for me & my husband. Now, with continued use, those little beans do smoosh down and become more condensed, but not as bad as you'd think. About a month ago (8 months in) we thought it could use some 'umpf' & bought the big bag of refill beans. We actually ended up not putting in as much as we thought we needed - maybe a grocery bag full - and now we have a giant box full of leftover beans in our basement. They should last us quite a while (probably years).Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.

2nd Update: I’ve used this for two months now and had to drop the rating down to four stars. This thing went completely flat. Be prepared to invest quite a bit of money in filler for this thing, because it won’t stay “fluffy” for long, and the filler is not cheap!Update: I’ve been using this for about a month now, and it has flattened quite a bit. If you read the product description before buying, it clearly says this will happen over time. There’s no way around it! You can either sacrifice comfort and buy something that won’t compress, or you can buy this and have to occasionally add more filling. I still love it! I just know I’ll be adding some filling periodically.I almost canceled my order right after placing it to order something much larger. I’m glad I didn’t cancel! This thing is EXACTLY what I’ve been needing. I like sitting in the floor while painting, crafting, etc. I can position this chair to be low to the floor with a cushiony back or I can lie down flat on it whenever I feel like taking a break to watch tv. This thing is truly perfect!

These are great bean bag chairs. You can lay them flat or form a chair and with a bit of a shake they come back to life immediately. I imagined the fabric as a bit softer when I ordered. It's a kind of slippery polyester(?) which I guess makes any spills easier for clean up, but my guys were hoping they'd be a bit snugglier.

Beans compress. Had to buy more beans to fill it after a few weeks.

Good price, great product, super fast shipping.I'll have a hard time giving this to my kid for Christmas. I want it for myself. It's so comfortable!

Do not buy. Beans sack in after a month.
