Simple to install
I have put trailer wiring harnesses on several cars in my life. This one was probably the easiest. Mainly because the car (2021 Honda Pilot) already had a plug for the wiring kit. The instructions were okay but not great. They have you remove a panel in the cargo area that did not have to be removed but, other than that, it was easy and took about 30 minutes. Way cheaper than paying a shop to do it.

Worked as described
This worked perfectly. The only thing that I didn’t like is the U-Haul version has a rubber grommet on the cord for where the wiring passes through the body panel down to the hitch area. I had to cut the existing grommet and punch a hole in it to try to, keep that area sealed

Great fit form and function
This wiring harness is easy to install if you read and follow the directions closely. The pictures are very helpful. A familiarity with wiring, hand tools and a battery operated or electric drill is helpful. It is also helpful to have a stiff blade putty knife or similar tool for dislodging the plastic inner panels required to access the factory harness without damaging them. I also suggest that the work be done in a heated space to avoid any damage to the plastic panels that could occur in extremely cold weather. I also used a small piece of 2X4 wood to block open the side panel to allow two hand access to the wiring connections. I installed this harness on a 2016 Pilot and used the jack storage box as the storage compartment for the trailer harness. I also attached the ground wire under the inside back lower panel by drilling a small hole in the car body and using the supplied self taping screw. The fuse location under the hood is easy to find and identify.

Good product; Poor instructions
I bought this wiring harness and successfully installed it in our 2016 Honda Pilot IN SPITE OF the CURT installation instructions. Of the 14 steps for installation, 7 are totally unnecessary. There is no need to disconnect the negative battery terminal, which is a real pain in the Pilot. Next they have you pulling out most of the car's interior trim in the rear area. There is no need to do that. Just pop off the cover for the car jack access (driver's side rear corner) and the cover for the electrical access just above it. That eliminates steps 1-6 and all the replacements in step 13. Feed the white connector from the wiring harness up from the jack access area to the electrical access area. Feel around in the electrical access area until you locate the rectangular connector housing. Work it down far enough for you to attach the white connector from the harness and click it on. Unscrew one of the metal screws on the metal bracket in the same area and attach the grounding wire. Insert the 10 amp fuse in the red fuse holder. Here you have a choice: The instructions call for just dangling the 4-flat plug out the back of the car when it is use and coiling it up inside the car when not in use. I'm sure that is adequate but I didn't like that idea. Instead, I popped out the drain plug in the jack compartment and fed the 4-flat through the hole. I cut a slit in the edge of the drain plug and removed enough of the center so the wiring fits through the center of the plug. (When everything was in place I put a dab of silicon on the underside of the drain plug where the wire goes through just to make sure there will be no leaks.) Next, I fed the 4-flat and wire through the brackets supporting the rear bumper and over to the far side of the hitch. I pulled enough wire so the 4-flat reaches to the chain ring on the hitch. I fed the 4-flat through the ring then used the loop of the dust cover to secure it in place. Whichever choice you selected, use the adhesive pad to stick the converter box to the floor of the jack compartment where it will be out of the way. Coil up any excess wiring and secure it with the cable ties. Replace the 2 access panels. Install the 30 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood as directed. BTW: The trailer lights worked as expected.

Easy!
Super easy to install. You don’t have to disassemble all the panels at the back of your SUV. Some YouTube videos made it harder than it actually was. Just one little panel to access the plug.

WORKED PERFECTLY FOR 2019 HONDA PASSPORT
Super easy install and it did everything it needed to do to power up my Passport for towing. Please note that the Amazon vehicle fitment guide states that this part does NOT work for 2019 Passport, but it ABSOLUTELY DOES FIT. If you buy this harness, note that the supplied 30 amp fuse goes in the fuse box on the DRIVERS side under the hood. I lost about 1/2 hour of time because I watched a Uhaul, Youtube video that stated, 20 amp fuse on passenger side, which was incorrect for my Canadian touring model. Overall, very impressed and grateful for this harness.😎 JS SAYN
