The description is correct, this is one of the 5-ply line even though the title says 3-ply. The item arrived quickly, in fact the next day! My first use was a one pan spaghetti and meatballs dish. The pan heated quickly and evenly, browning the meatballs superbly without sticking. Then added chopped onions and garlic, The onions softened nicely without a lot of stirring needed. Then a couple cans of Italian-style chopped tomatoes, some broth, spices, and the uncooked spaghetti. Brought the pan to a boil. The heat seemed very evenly distributed as bubbles rose from the entire bottom. Stir, stir, stir as the sauce thickens up. Cooked till the spaghetti was al dente. No burning or sticking. Very easy clean up, just hot water and a little dish soap. I think this become one my most used pans.

All-Clad makes two very similar products — The D5 Stainless "Essential" 4 quart pan, and the D5 Stainless "Weeknight" 4 quart pan.I believe this product page's text is the wrong pan.The only way I could tell them apart is by comparing the height of the riveted handle piece to the height of the pan below the riveted metal piece. My "go-to" pan - especially when trying a new recipe where I don't know for sure how much room I need. Like all All Clad pans, cleans up beautifully.

Works great. Wish it was non-stick.
