Not deep enough to be helpful
My dog Prue is incorrigible. She bites nose, is hyper and really has a hard time with being irritable and cranky. I got this sling to see if extra time with me might help her relax just a little bit. We have five dogs in this household and she can get lost in the shuffle because she is not inherently a lovable creature. When I received this sling, I really liked how soft it was and how great the quality of fabric seemed. I like the little carabiner hook on the side for my dog's hook on her collar to keep her in the sling. Placing her in the sling calms her right down and she is suddenly a calm sweet dog.The negative aspect of this is that the sling is not deep enough. My dog is only 8 pounds and her legs can hang out of this which makes it hard to balance her while I'm moving around. In order to be helpful, it would need at least 2 more inches in the bottom for most all dogs with the exception of teacup pups.I purchased this hitop pet sling carrier bag at a deep discount so I could offer my review of it. Your small dog will love it!
I bought a different bag at first. It was too rigid and caused my dog instant stress. I sent it back and ordered this one. I received the HITOP dog sling carrier and put my 8lb toy poodle inside and he loved it. He loves to be close to me so he was in heaven. The bag is very soft and was comfortable for both of us. It might be too big for a dog half the size of mine as there was plenty of room for my little guy. I'm 5 feet tall so it came a little lower than I like but I will just sew the strap a little shorter. The bag comes with a hook on the strap that you can clip on your dog's collar. This bag is exactly what I was looking for!

it would be much better.
It is okay. There is no way to adjust it, so when I put my 17 LB pug in it, it drops down to my lower hip. If there way someway to adjust it so he can sit higher in the bag, it would be much better.

The best cat carrier
Coco loves being in this thing. So much so that he cries when I try removing him from it. Made of soft materials and reasonably durable.

Convenient and useful!
I travel a lot with my support animal and this has made such a difference! My cat hates carriers and although she's leash trained, Its a hassle to carry her through security whole juggling luggage and removing my laptop etc etc. This sling is perfect. My cat likes having the option to hide and burrow underneath the blanket I put inside or to peek her head and front paws out. She's able to be right near me and get chin scratches and treats. I can keep an eye on her well being and know she's safe thanks to the collar clip! When it's cold out, I put this on first and then my jacket. It's also great in emergencies; super easy to use during fire drills in my residence complex.

Great for small dogs, especially insecure ones
I bought this for our recent rescue, who is very timid. We we're having about 30 people over, and knew she would be scared. She stayed in the sling almost the entire evening, and did amazingly well! She seemed comforted by being held against my body. She weighs less than 10 lbs, but she felt heavy before the night was over.I didn't give 5 stars mainly because of the lining fabric. It doesn't feel very soft (maybe it's supposed to be water proof, but I don't want to find out). It also does not match the exterior fabric. I am thinking about adding a micro fleece layer myself.

My dog is a hit wherever we go
I have a 13 lb miniature dachshund and he loooves to be in the bag, even if he does get heavy after a little while. Since his legs are so short, I put a blanket in the bottom so he doesn't choke himself trying to rest his head on the edge. My dog is very shy, but he is also very curious, so he likes to be in this bag so he can look around, and since he's right up against me he feels safe enough to let strangers pet him. I take him to the farmers market and street fests in it and he gets tons of attention.

WOW! this sling has exceeded my expectations! Came so close to not ordering this due to the mixed reviews - just wasn't clear on a few things so decided to give it a try.....love the color - love the shape - love the ease of putting my 15lb bichon frise in the pocket (adorable) and it is so comfortable carrying him and he seems very comfortable as well - I am 5'8 and the length could not be any more perfect (falls just slightly right below my waste).....HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VERY WELL MADE SLING!
