Great quality, design, price, and functionality. 5/5 across the board. Very happy with my purchase as I am with all sanabul products I ordered- mouth guard, boxing gloves, gi. GO SANABUL

True to size, easy to move, breathable fabric, good quality!
Used for 1 month, three times a week for both jiu jitsu and muay thai and still looks like newI'm 5'8 and my waist (defined as below my belly button where I wear the shorts) is 30 inches. I bought size 32 because I wanted extra room. The drawstring + Velcro can make it very tight. This also gives me the flexibility to bulk up in winter time.Women/Female: My wife has worn these shorts for a few classes, she's 5'2, 110 lbs, waist around belly button 30 inches and these fit her as well. They are longer on her, and she can still do kicks in them.Sizing: It's hard to go wrong with sizing because of the drawstring, there's flexibility. If you wear old navy pants, get the same size as you would there. The velcro is also added security to keep the pants snug.Durability: These shorts are very strong. I have performed kicks, rolled around and done grappling with these. I've had people pull on these shorts and they seem to be pretty resilient.Flexibility: I'm able to move well in these shorts. They do not restrict my movement.Washing: I've washed these in the heavy cycle in the washer and then thrown it in the dryer. They have not shrunk.Material : 100% polyester. They are lightweight and let air in. Martial arts is a sweaty sport and I like wearing this material.Brand: Most of my martial arts stuff is from the sanabul brand. In general they make good quality, affordable products.

Perfect for No Gi BJJ
I bought these for No Gi BJJ. They're perfect:- They do not cover my knee or restrict leg movement.- They're tough, but also have a little bit of stretch.- They look good and don't have a bunch of "bling." One of the main reasons I train BJJ is to be a better, more humble person. I don't want to wear loud, obnoxious clothing. These are the best grappling shorts I've ever used at any price. They fact that these are only $20 is amazing.

Perfect no-nonsense no-gi shorts
I’m 6’1” 205 with a slightly athletic build. I wear size 33x32 in Gap’s athletic cut jeans that have a bit more room in the thighs and seat. These shorts fit great, the only thing I might have liked is a waistband with a little more structure because the drawstring tightens well but “cuts” in a bit. It’s not uncomfortable or painful, but only a very minor notice. With that said, the thighs fit perfectly - form fitting without being tight and have enough stretch while maintaining durability. They sit just above the knee and aren’t tapered so your legs aren’t constrained. These are perfect for training no gi jiu jitsu, and would even be competition worthy. At $20, there’s no reason to look for $70-$100 shorts unless you’re a brand snob. Get these and go train.

Best shorts in the price range; they run very large though
I've tried a few of the budget-priced shorts now and these Sanabuls are definitely my favorite. The material seems tough/durable and they are just the right length for me. Just be aware these things run very big. I have a 33" inch waist (actual waist size, not pants size) so I first ordered the 32's. They were so ridiculously big they wouldn't even stay up even with the drawstring tied as tightly as it could go. I exchanged them for the 30's, and they were pretty much right on the money.Aside from the sizing issue I can't really think of anything negative to say about these shorts. I really wish they offered more options than just solid black with different color trim though. I'd even pay an extra $10-20 for some cooler designs.

These are great shorts at a really low price point
I will preface this by saying I only just got into martial arts; I train in Krav Maga and boxing 2-3 times a week. These are great shorts at a really low price point. However, as other customers have mentioned about this company, they are lacking quality control. I ordered one pair of these that looked great. Upon further inspection, some stitching on the inside wasn't complete so I sent them back. I ordered the same pair (same color same size) and had a similar experience, but the stitching is on the velcro on the inside so it doesn't appear that it will be an issue. Other than that, these shorts are great. They are stretchy and thick to the point where they are really comfortable but seem like they will hold up over time. Think heavy-duty board shorts. These would have gotten 5 stars if not for the manufacturing issue.

Sanabul makes great MMA gear at half the price.
Ordered for a gift, ended up returning the first pair, as he was right on the border of sizes and the first size I ordered was slightly big. The free returns really came in handy for trying them out. These are best worn fitted so if you are at the edge of a size, order a size down. They run just a little loose. The velcro closure doesn't come undone even in heavy sparring sessions or workouts. The material is very flexible yet appears durable, and very cool as well. The design is basic (unlike many other MMA shorts) so can be paired with most workout gear. Overall, this short was about half the price of most MMA gear around, and was truely a better fit, and as well made as the expensive stuff. I love all the sanabul gear that I've purchased so far, wish they would expand their line of MMA and BJJ gear.

Great overall but buy a size smaller
I really like the shorts, great construction, durable, good shorts overall. But I am a solid 34 waist, and these shorts, ordered in 34, are a bit larger than I would have liked them. They're a little roomy in the waist (which doesn't pose a problem with the drawstring) and they go a bit further down toward the knee than I had wanted (see picture). So my advice is to get a size smaller than you'd normally wear if you want them a little higher on the leg for muay thai.

Not suitable for BJJ
Material is thick (not breathable) and cheap in feel. The velcro residing up the crotch and at the waist level is too thick and restrictive to be used for BJJ. I am a size 30 waist and there is little room in the crotch and glute area. Thighs are somewhat tight.

Too bulky velcro area!
Bulky front where the velcro attaches. It's the black area on the top section of the shorts. Anytime I do an exercise that requires me to be on my stomach, this area always cuts into my waist. I wouldn't buy these again.

Great Buy!
Female BJJ beginner (6ft. tall) - These shorts are super comfortable while stretching, warming up, rolling and sparring. The velcro is strong, stays in place and never bothers my sparring partner. Only complaint for me is that the slit on the side is a little short, but I have a woman's build with bigger hips than the men who wear these shorts. Fantastic shorts!!
