works as advertised. Battery compartment inconvenient.
works as advertised. The battery compartment requires 4 tiny screws to be removed. Inconvenient to find a small enough Phillips to put in batteries.

Ok for beginners but flawed
This product is okay for beginners, but it does not tell you on which end you have a short or a Miss wire and it does not tell you which wires are shorted, it's okay for just running a few cable runs and to verify that you've acquired everything correctly, if you don't just start over on both ends. Also in its flaws: if you dont have the Jack's plugged in and stable aka don't move them at all, it will give you false short or miswire readings...big problem for me personally. The box also came all crushed when I got it but the shipping box was fine so there is that as well. If you have $80 I would suggest buying a Klein digital model like I did and it does A Lot more

Overpriced with obviously flaws
I'm not opposed to spending good money on decent tools. I make my living with these every day. With that in mind, I wanted a tester that would be durable for every day use and performs complete tests including split pairs. On the surface, this tester fits well the bills. The construction isn't bad. It seems like reasonably quality plastic with some nice rubberized accents for grip. There's a decent chance it would survive a short fall. The design is typical of a palm-sized tester in this category, however it does have a glaring design flaw. There is no battery access cover. You must completely remove the back of the tester by removing four tiny screws requiring a micro Phillips that's unlikely to be in anyone's tool belt. The tester comes with a simple nylon belt pouch that is slightly padded. The stitching seems to be decent enough, but the pouch is not large enough to hold the tester, remote, and adapters together which defeats the purpose.All-in-all, this is an okay tester but it's probably not worth the $60 price tag with more user-friendly options available for less than half that price.

Needs more storage in pouch.
Good product, easy to use but the pouch only holds the main components. No place to keep attachments.

Works great
Helped me go through my box of misc cables accumulated through the years and weed out the bad ones. Also was very useful in identifying cable runs back to an unlabled distribution box. Battery swap a bit awkward, but that's it.

Overall good, but check other kits first.
Pros:* Simple and does basic cable checking just fine.* Feels ruggedCons:* Check competition first as devices with similar functionality run 2x cheaper. And if you need Ethernet crimper, then consider to buy toolkit that has everythng instead.* Hard to replace batteries - need to unscrew 4 delicate screws for which it is hard to determine head type.* If you want to run this device on 1.2V NiMH rechargeable batteries expect to replace them often.

Simple to use and does the job.
Simple to use, and works as expected. Came with a nice case and the 2 halves lock together to keep it organized.
