The Original Lettermate

I am in love with The Original Lettermate. I saw this and knew I had to invest. I use it all the time now for addressing letters and making cards. It is an ingenious invention. The templates are well spaced out, so it makes writing cards and addressing letters (or whatever else you would like to do with it) a breeze. There are many options with this little guy. Unfortunately, it is quite small, but that is due to the fact that is needs to fit on an envelope. It is: 5in x 4in. However, I think it is the perfect size. I have never had a problem with it being too small or the template being too small. Although, I have desired occasionally on some projects for a larger version of this. Love it! I recommend this to everyone who still writes snail mail.

I really wanted to hand address my invitations but I’m not so great at eyeballing spacing when I’m writing. Enter the lettermate. It is a flimsy plastic material so I wasn’t sure if it would be safe in the mail, but I ordered a pack of clear labels at the same time (in case the lettermate didn’t work out) so it was sent in a big, safe package. The lettermate has little dots along the top to help with spacing. I used the lettermate to write out the addresses in a notebook first, and noted which dots I wanted to use. For most of my invitations, this was very easy and I only had to practice once before moving over to the envelopes. My invitations look really clean and legible. Big thumbs up!

I have had mine for over a year. Just now writing a review as I've come to use mine enough now to write a review. It's my favorite writing tool. Enjoy using this on all my envelopes. I haven't used it on anything else expect addressing envelopes. It makes my envelopes look beautiful and professionally addressed. It keeps everything equally spaced and straight. It takes a bit to get the hang of at first, but that's with anything. It works great and for the price, worth every penny!! It's definitely a tool I can't be without.

Love this little gadget. The plastic it is made from is very quality —bendable but heavy duty. Definitely gets the job done. You can also be very creative with this tool. And the ruler is a plus.

I used this to help with my mass production of Wedding invitations. I wrote all the addresses by hand and I knew I would be tired after awhile but I didn't want my line quality to suffer. I thought the spacing was perfect for what I was using this for, but I can see how it may be too far apart for some people. It was great for doing all caps or block letters. Since I used it on an envelope the size of a birthday card, it worked well, but I could see it being less ideal for a regular business envelope. Great tool though and wonderful idea!

This was the single best purchase I made during wedding planning. It is so easy to use and practically mess up free. The lettermate allowed me to address all my wedding save the dates, invitations, and thank you cards to give it a more personal feel while also making them look clean, and elegant. I would highly suggest buying this, it's probably the best $10 I've ever spent. I saved so much time not lining up all my invitations because it already does all of that for you.

I bought this for writing out my wedding invitations. I wish I could do beautiful calligraphy by hand but my hand writing is pretty decent/nice without calligraphy. This tool took that to another level, it made my addressed invitations very neat and pretty. I thought it was fun to use too and come up with different ways of writing out addresses. I will be using this in the future for all my addressing!

I do like this unique device. The concept for this Lettermate is very simple: a plastic stencil that guides your writing to create evenly spaced and properly lined hand addressed envelopes. It's a tad expensive but it really does create a cool and interesting effect, especially if you play around with a variety of pens and nibs and colors.
