Not what made Dremel famous but better than other brands I have tried. Quick connec head takes getting use to but a plus to have
I can see why this Dremel seems to be the least liked of the series due to the quick connect collar. I like it. I have used Dremel lightly for about 15 years. I had my original all that time. Then last year I started having more free time and used my Dremel for everything. Wasn't long when my old one stopped working. Well with all I did the previous 2 months and 15 years prior to that I was happy so I went out and paid top price for the new 4000 series. First thing I Noticed was this 4000 did not have the same kind of umph my old one had. But the motor did not sound strained and it was much better shaped for holding etc. So I was happy. It lasted for about 5 weeks then it died.I admit it could have been from me, I Do push things hard but that's why I pay moore for tougher tools. So first I started looking for springs to repair, found here, check. Then I Started looking at this and that. Next thing Amazon has me on a page where this 4200 is on sale as a refab model. Price excellent, less than my first one. Warranty even better. For the price of the springs I could get 3 years of no questions asked return. That cinched the deal for me. Now that I have it.Motor sounds a little weaker thanthe 4000. Another thing I forgot was the 4000 got hot, well so does this one. So I learned to slow down my drive and let the weight do the work. Still gets warm but not hot. Happy. My only complaint with this is the quick connect head does not allow for different sized unions like the other ones. I have no way of swapping to use all the Dremel attachments I have. Most fit but not all. Probably intentional but I can do without. If push comes to shove I will not get a Dremel for these other attachments.Mostly Due to the motor heat and inability to grind through has left me with a less than perfect feeling. But I stil give 5 stars based off value, warranty and reliability. Just wish I could get my old motor going on the original. Who knows I might one day.

Powerful, but also vibrates too much.
I bought this to replace my Black and Decker which "died." I did not get enough use out of the B&D before it quit. I am hoping the Dremel is better quality. The unit is very powerful. The amount of vibration at high RPMs is surprising. At first, I thought my bit might be bent. But running the tool with no bit did not reduce the vibrations. It gives me pause to think if I was a major user that the tool might vibrate itself to death over time! As such, I am an occasional user, giving me hope it will last.

can't live without the dremel!
I picked up this certified refurbished dremel to replace the aged one that wore out and I'm so glad I did. I already had all the pieces I needed and accessories for the model I had so I didn't need to go new. I may yet still find someone to repair my old one and then all the bases are covered. I can't live without the dremel, seriously! As an artist I find tons of uses for it and the ease of this incredibly powerful tool to use makes it easier for someone with arthritis too! Thanks seller!

Can only use dremel brand bits with this
I love dremel but sadly, this fell short of my wanting to use at all. it doesn't lock onto the bit that well. I had my off market bit fly off three times before put it to the side and used one of my older one with the adjustable tightness.

Heavy Rotary tool
Looked and operated just like new and I love the quick change capability of this model. If only Dremel could lighten these tools. Unfortunately this one is one of the heaviest I own now (4 of them) and its very hard on my senior wrist.

Used 3 times and the 4th time it's dead... I have to ship back to Dremel at my own cost!
I purchased and used the product 3 times, and on the forth attempt, the tool ran for 10 seconds a stopped. Dead. Tried again the next day, and did the exact same thing - clearly a bad motor or something like that. I contacted the seller VMInnovations for a replacement, as I had only had it 7 weeks and barely used it. They told me I would need to go to Dremel. Dremel is having me send it back at my own cost.Overall, I would not buy a reconditioned Dremel product again due to the run around, and the fact I am now without a the tool. Some items are best bought from a local store like HD or Lowes, that would replace it on the shot.
