Must have IMO
For ME there are 3 kinds of books…. Must have in arsenal, leisurely fun, and then brake your comfort zone books. This i would have to say is an ALL three actually. It might not be up to speed for a novice and a tad bit advanced to a beginner. But here’s my thoughts. Show me ONE hooooonest “novice” who knows all stitches and I’ll show you 5 HONEST ADVANCED who don’t (they wont claim to be novice because they believe they will always learn more). I was an absolute beginner when i bought this book. I went through with handy little tabs (that i swear by) and i just marked ones i wanted to learn first. (Though my dream is to try them ALL at least ONCE). So that was my first realistic goal. Then i put the book away til today actually. I pulled it out to do this review. Flipped through it and with complete rejoice turned to my roommate and said…”you wanna know what feels absolutely amazing? I’ve leveled up with practice in other areas and projects. That i can now flip through this book and read every single thing i see. Now knowing HOW to DO correctly is another thing. But i know what I’m reading. Deff one I will keep in my arsenal

Would buy again
I’m new to crochet and this book is the best. Not only does it teach you the stitch but it shows what a small section of blanket ( … scarf, hat, sweater, whatever you’re making ) would look like in that stitch. If you truly want to learn more and have an abundance of stitches at your fingertips, this is the book for you.

Well structured, with index and dictionary of chart symbols
After scanning through this book I'm really pleased with it. Each stitch has directions in both text and chart form. There's a dictionary of chart symbols at the back (some seem a bit different than I'm used to, so this is good) along with an index. The only odd thing I noticed -- very minor -- is that what I'm used to calling 'post stitches' (e.g. front post dc, back post dc, etc.) the author refers to as 'raised stitches' or 'relief stitches' instead. The table of contents is great. Though subsections of the stitch directory section are handled in a different way than I expected (outline form with stitches in each subsection listed below) it works well. The sections are marked with a horizontal bar using different colors for each subsection, with each stitch name and a small picture of the stitch underneath. My only concern with the TOC would be for anyone who has some color blindness as there don't seem to be other cues than color (such as alternating lighter and darker shades to make the break between subsections more visible). Each subsection does have the name printed at the beginning, but if you're scanning, that's not always so easy to see.

100% Recomend this book
I never write reviews, but this is an INCREDIBLE book. Very well done, good quality of diagrams, instructions and pictures. I 100% recommend to anyone, doesn't matter if you are a veteran or just starting.

Good knowledge for the price
An abundance of stitches to try, and the book itself feels very sturdy. There's some in here i didn't even know existed lol! I only wish it had a spiral spine to bend the book easier

More than just the 200 stitches
There is a lot of info in this book. I like that it explains more than just how to do the 200 stitches. It talks about types of yarn, hooks, accessories, seams and the basics of holding the hook and yarn. One thing I struggle with is reading patterns, I tend to watch YouTube videos if I struggle with understanding the pattern. I'm trying to use this book to get better at reading patterns / symbols. So far, I have tried out 3 that were easier for me to read.

Good resource
I've never gotten beyond crocheting afghans, so I'm a mediocre crocheter. But I do like to try different stitches. This book is a great resource with pretty easy to understand patterns.
