Eufy… I hate that I enjoy your cameras.
A couple years ago, I tried Eufy cameras out. Mainly because they support HomeKit! Fell in love with the cameras, and how well they worked for me. The picture quality is fantastic, Though HomeKit limits to 1080p, Not Eufy’s fault though. However what is their fault is the security risks they’ve elected to overlook, and place a bandaid on it. Because of that, I can not - in good faith, recommend Eufy camera’s anymore. At least not without telling a person to do their research first. That said, Eufy makes a great product, And I’ll keep using the cameras outside of my home. Their range is more than fair (with a good router). Battery life, is great overall, However that depends on your cameras settings, and usage. I easily get more than a year out of some of them, that I only look at a couple times daily. But only a month or two with my others that are catching motion throughout the day or being viewed for more than a few minutes each day. Night vision is really solid, and good range. Sound quality, Is decent. Cuts out some as I talk through it, But can hear voice from it really well. It’s important to note, You are NOT able to use the mic through the Home App, same goes for the light on the 2C Pro. So you will need the Eufy app to not only use all your features, But also have the full 2K resolution. So, Again. Love the cameras, Very much dislike the company at this point and my trust is completely gone in Eufy.

It's ok
I would not want to stake my life on these cameras. They do not always pick up what's going on. They are very finicky with the Wi-Fi. When you want them the most they are very slow. They pick up other motions when set to human only. a large issue I have with them is the distance they can pick up motion. 30 feet or so is ok in the city but outside those close spaces it is not enough distance. The field of view needs to be greater takes a lot of cameras to cover an area. The light is not much use. I like the no subscription part of it, the clarity is good, easy to install. I would recommend them but you need to be aware of the limitations. I'm using Wasserstein charging cables to keep them charged so I don't have to take them down. They seal better than the cover that comes with the camera so I don't anticipate any corrosion issues. Working flawlessly so far. Allows you to get better settings without worrying about battery drain and I don't have take them down to charge.

Crystal clear video with quick integration to HomeKit
I set this camera up in my yard to monitor my front door and yard, it’s redundant to my HomeKit doorbell camera however the angle covers my entry gate as well, something my doorbell cam isn’t wide angle enough to capture. Set up with HomeKit was as simple as adding the product to my home base device and then clicking add to HomeKit. Set up was immediate and then it allowed me to set up all my recording options as well as sensitivity, whether or not I wanted to use the flood light etc. Another great product from Eufy, I’m now 5 cameras in and possibly adding more. I’m mostly happy with Eufy’s HomeKit integration aside from the doorbell I bought that said it would be air updated to HomeKit which never happened so I switched to Aqara for that and haven’t looked back since. Aqara is superior for HomeKit integration where everything can be added while Eufy is hit and miss with products. You have to carefully research and they don’t always list HomeKit in the description even when it is. I have a feeling that’s not readily listed because Amazon doesn’t play nice with Apple and they prefer you to buy based on Alexa - vastly inferior system when it comes to encrypted security. Shame on you Amazon for not highliting HomeKit integration when the Eufy products as listed as such on their own website. We don’t all want Alexa, due to inferior end to end encryption that you cannot provide due to being an open protocol without a system integration package in a closed environment.

Pretty good camera
It's a decent camera. Resolution is pretty good. Motion detection can be a little unreliable. Sometimes it will miss important stuff, but pick up a random car driving down my street. Battery life can be an issue sometimes.

DO NOT BUY ANY EUFY SECURITY PRODUCTS!
Think about this: There are a lot of one star reviews for a reason. . . So frustrating that I took a sledge to their doorbell. . . UPDATE (10/04/2022): Customer service response to the current issues: "Unfortunately, if your order has expired its 12-month warranty, and if the device is defective, we are sorry that we are not able to arrange a replacement for you according to our warranty policy. However, we register all defects and evaluate them statistically. These statistics enable us to identify any increased defect rates or concentrated product problems, so thank you very much for letting us know about your product." Be warned, small issues from the start with the entire eufy system only to have it breakdown after 2 years. And nothing can be done about it with customer service. DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM! UPDATE (10/04/2022): Customer service response to the current issues: "Unfortunately, if your order has expired its 12-month warranty, and if the device is defective, we are sorry that we are not able to arrange a replacement for you according to our warranty policy. Be warned, small issues from the start with the entire eufy system only to have it breakdown after 2 years. And nothing can be done about it with customer service. DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM! UPDATE (09/29/2022): This eufy system has gone from bad to worse. Battery low, so cam 2c charged. Last charge hardly lasted long at all. Now camera, after fully charged, unable to play live video. Deleted device. Added device. Restarted homebase. Still no work! Restarted wifi. Deleted device. Added device. Restarted homebase. Still no work! Deleted device. Now UNABLE TO ADD DEVICE! After multiple tries Still unable to add device. Restarted everything. STILL UNABLE TO ADD DEVICE! This has gone from bad to worse. There is always some issue that happens with this eufy system. It's horrible and frustrating. So damn disappointed with eufy. DO NOT BUY ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS! UPDATE (2/19/2021): Have been dealing with customer service from eufy since all the problems started. The result? A lot of apologies but no solutions. They offered to send a replacement only to later say that they are unable to deliver to the address. The same address that the original ones were sent to. Again, apologies but no solutions. This security system is a joke. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM! ‐-------------------------------------- UPDATE (12/16/2020): Have had the system for approximately three months. Also purchased indoor cameras a few weeks after first purchase. Problems still occurring but past time period to initiate refund. Contacted Eufy customer support on numerous occasions who suggested different settings and system upgrades but errors still occurring even with various adjustment settings. Customer support responds with the same excuse that their tech team is working on the issues. Thought that it could possibly be the 2C cameras that were defective and, in one email, offered to send replacements. Then, in another reply, offered to send a Pan/Tilt indoor camera as a replacement. It was a nice offer, but the issues are with the outdoor 2C cameras and not with the indoor cameras at all. In one reply, customer support offered a $25 refund for the unsolved issues. $25?! That was insulting. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM! I cannot stress that enough. Poor system. Multiple false alarm issues. Dysfunctional Zone feature. Inconsistent notifications (sometimes it will capture a person, sometimes it won't). Faulty AI. Horrible customer support. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM! ‐-------------------------------------- THE GOOD: Camera has decent image quality. Set up fairly simple. Battery powered 2C camera will last a few months as long as AI does not filter out too many events. Will record and store events locally (no subscription fees). THE BAD: AI will detect numerous false detections (ex: shadows detected as human faces). No matter how you adjust the sensitivity or activity zones the system will give frequent false alarms of shadows presenting as a human. Very distracting. Also, how would you pay attention to a REAL alert when you are constantly bombarded with false alarms. The eufy system cries wolf a lot. So much, that you become reluctant to have the siren on at all. Activities Zones that are set up are useless. Basically, you get a set of colored rectangles on your app while eufy still detects outside of those zones (which also drains the battery). And the zones that are set up are inconsistent when detecting movement (same problem as other reviews). Sometimes you will get a notification and sometimes you won't. Adjusting the sensitivity level higher does not help with the inconsistent notifications. It does, however, help with catching more activity outside the established zone. Indoor cams require a micro SD card to record events. Otherwise it is just a camera. Would be better if the indoor cam could link up with the Homebase2 and store recordings there. Would also be better if the Homebase2 had a micro SD storage slot instead. Geofencing does not work at all for multiple users. Even with one person in the zone while one is out of the zone eufy will change the security system to "Away". Geofencing will also place a family member "out of the zone" even if that person hasn't left the zone all day. Geofencing is also inconsistent across different units. One indoor camera will report a different status than the home system (Homebase2). Have reported issue to eufy support. They have responded fairly quickly, however the system updates that were provided did not solve the problem. After reading the eufy forums, the Geofencing issue has been a problem for a long time and it has not been resolved. After weighing the GOOD vs the BAD, the eufy system does not perform well as a home security system and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM. It will not provide adequate security protection.
