Great Job Targus!
This case is of very high quality. There is padding around the entire bag. Total, there is about one inch of padding on each side of where the notebook is stored. The clips that allow the bag to be hung around the shoulder are metal so they will not break off in the future after long use. Although metal clips sound like a small detail, they are really very important: in the past, my notebook case had a plastic clip that broke off as I was swinging the case over my shoulders; don't let this happen to you. All the zippers on the case are made of metal as well. If the metal clips or the zippers break, the case is backed by a lifetime warranty. Thank you Targus! The pocket that holds the notebook is very well padded. I have a Dell Inspiron 2200 with a 14.1 inch screen that fits very nicely. The case can probably hold notebooks up to 15 inches with no problems. The pocket that holds the notebook also has a small Velcro strip that goes across the notebook after it is put in. The zipper on the notebook pocket has two holes that a lock can go through. There are 4 separate zippered compartments total. One is designed to hold papers and folders but is not large enough for a binder. One holds the notebook. The other two pockets can hold cables, a mouse, and other miscellaneous objects. I always carry my notebook, a mouse, a mouse pad, an Ethernet cable, iPod, iPod charger, iPod cable, notebook power adapter, and a USB flash drive and I still have space for more. The price that Amazon has is a steal. Other cases of this quality will easily run $50 or more.PS. The bag is not waterproof for those who want to know.Pros* Lifetime warranty* Metal clips and zippers* Good amount of padding all around* Lots of space* Has Velcro straps on the inside in logical spots* Excellent price (free shipping also)Cons* Not waterproof

Great quality light notebook case
Don't let the price fool you, this is a quality notebook case. I've traditionally used a larger leather briefcase, but I wanted a lighter case to use on occassion. I've been so pleased it has replaced my heavier case. My wife borrowed the case for one of her trips and I never got it back; I had to go out and buy a new one.My laptop is well protected in the padded central section. The carrying straps show no sign of distress, I've had problems with other bags' straps breaking at the clips.I've had the case for ~6 months, use it daily and I'm very pleased with the quality.*** UPDATED August 2011 ***It's almost five years later and I'm still using this briefcase. I carry a laptop and papers to work five days a week, use this when I fly, haul it to my kid's soccer games. This is an amazing value. Nothing is broken, faded, or ripped. I'm guessing I could use it another five years without issue.

Solid, for better or for worse
The laptop pouch is well padded and a reasonable size (though my 13" Macbook isn't deep enough to fill it out), and there's a good variety of pockets. I haven't found a good place for the computer's power cord, but it's easy to stuff a lot of books, notepads, pens, and mints in there. The zippers and strap clips are solidly made; no problems yet.My only minor annoyance is that it feels heavy when fully loaded. I usually stuff about as much into it as possible, though, so that shouldn't stop you from buying one -- just know that it isn't a "miracle bag" that can reduce the apparent weight of your load!

Laptop does not fit - very small computer compartment!
This is advertised as accommodating a 15.6 inch laptop. DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!!! My Lenovo Ideapad 110 is 14.8 inches wide (14 and 13/16 inches, to be precise), and it DOES NOT FIT in the computer pocket of this bag, neither horizontally nor vertically. It is not even close! Basically, I bought this laptop bag based on false advertising. There are barely 14 inches of space in this bag. If you have a laptop that is even a hair over 14 inches wide, I strongly suggest you not buy this bag.

Not durable, Quality is subpar
I have a Targus bag similar to this one that is four years old and still looks great except the vinyl covering the handles has torn away. I thought this Targus CityLite bag was the same one but it is not! I used it for six days of commuting and the fabric started tearing where one of the handles was attached to the bag. Extremely poor durability, the fabric is very thin and rips easily. I suppose to keep the price of the bag in the $35 range, Targus decided to cut (rip is more like it) corners. I promptly returned the bag to Amazon (their warehouse must be overflowing with returns!)I don't recommend this bag at any price due to very poor quality and durability. A durable bag is a must when carrying a laptop and peripherals that can cost a lot of money. No need to cheap out on a lousy bag like this. Hope this review helps.

Nice bag, but does NOT take Dell 15.4 Inspiron 6000
I ordered this based on the fact that the leather bag I have been carrying is just too heavy, and there were some reviews stating that this would fit a 15.4 inch screen laptop. While the bag is very light and compact and well made for the price, there is NO WAY you'd get a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a 15.4 inch screen in this, no matter how much Vaseline you use. Maybe one of the kids will think it's a cool bookbag.
