DO NOT BUY! NOT ITALIAN, CHINESE. LFT SHOE THONG FIT WRONG PAINFUL SOLE HARD LINING NOT ALL LEATHER
The Donald Pliner FIFI was my favorite sandal; however: they are NO LONGER MADE IN ITALY, but now CHINA manufactured. THE FIT ON THE LEFT SHOE THONG (of the size 7.5s) IS TOO FAR LEFT. Bought a black & camel pair and BOTH have the SAME PROBLEM. PAINFUL FROM THE MOMENT PUT ON. There is NO COMPARISON to the other six pairs of fine ITALIAN DP FIFI sandals, that I own, in fit & quality. Lining is no longer all leather. Called DP directly to ask in what country they manufacture FiFi, the gal said she didn't know...or she was told not to tell customers. Even when inquired that you are customer service for the business and you can't tell customers or don't know...NO. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, NOR WILL I BUY DONALD PLINER SHOES ANYMORE. They are not what they use to be, a quality Italian shoe company. I should not have ignored other reviews mentioning the very hard (Chinese) foot bed on the FIFl. They are capitalizing on the name & past quality, but now just a sham, just like Eddie Bauer...same story...no longer a USA company, run & made elsewhere, possibly the Philippines, with NO customer service.

LOVE THESE SHOES
I have had two pairs of these and have fallen in love with them. Amazon was running a deal recently and I grabbed a pair that was discounted. They are so comfortable I wear them everywhere.

Is this really Donald J PLINERS shoe?
The media could not be loaded. I ordered size 9 which fits like my normal 8 1/2 so size no problem. I needed a lighter color as I have a black pair I have had for over 3 years. The leather on my original Donald PLINERS is a soft calf skin and I never had any problems with the stem between my toes unlike the stem on the shoe I just ordered. These look like China knockoffs. Even the name print is different.

These are beautiful, well made sandals. I recommend going one half size bigger as they run small.

Great style, but not for my feet
I'm so sorry to return these shoes because they are SO cute on, but just not comfortable enough to keep. I don't wear toe thong shoes much and maybe I'm just too sensitive but they hurt between my toes and I don't have the patience to see if they would break in.

I CONSIDER THIS SANDAL (ALONG WITH MANY OTHER PEOPLE) TO BE HIS MOST COMFORTABLE AND UNIQUE SANDAL. LET'S HOPE HE NEVER STOPS MAKING IT. THE FOOTBED IS LEATHER WITH A SLIGHTLY RAISED TOE GRIP IN FRONT. THE LEATHER FOOTBED IS ALSO SLIGHTLY RAISED AT THE SIDES OF THE SHOE SO THAT YOU FEEL A FIRM FIT WITHOUT THE SENSATION THAT THE SHOE MIGHT SLIDE SIDEWISE OFF OF YOUR FOOT. JUST ENOUGH HEEL HEIGHT TO WORK WITH PANTS OR DRESSES. I HAVE PURCHASED SEVERAL IN DIFFERENT COLORS. JUST A GREAT ALL AROUND SANDAL. YES, THEY'RE EXPENSIVE, BUT THEY LAST AND YOU CAN FIND THEM ON SALE AT THE END OF EACH SEASON.
