I Bought Both
I only write reviews when something drastically changes my life and wows me.Now part of this is the wow factor as a DIY'er who's never used or had an air hammer at all.I purchased both; realized the long barrel's extra power was necessary.Had an incredibly difficult time removing the front lower control arm on an e90 BMW.First I used the short barrel in order to get into the tight spot and position myself above the nut, however it just was not enough power. I ended up taking the entire knuckle/hub off the car with the stuck LCA and decided to work on a bench and even with the added power of the long barrel version, it took only about 5 minutes to get it off. Very long 5 minutes.Buy this tool if you don't have one! As per longevity? Who knows? I'll probably use it here and there and not daily like most people buying this tool. But I'll be glad I'll have it when its need pops up!

Perfect for light maintenance tech
Use this once in a blue moon when my slide puller or trusty 2lb hammer Won’t get it. Very light, perfect bits and great power. Haven’t had any complaints that aren’t because the axle is actually welded to the hub lol. I work on ford vehicles and haven’t found that I need a more special short or super long barrel. Great for light maintenance technicians. If you need anything bigger or special you need a pay raise lol

Wow!
Stop wasting your money on those poor quality air chisels. After years of buying cheap air chisels about 1 every year. I thought it was time to spend a few extra bucks and get something better. Say goodbye to those springs on the end just push the collar and pop your favorite end in. No more fighting the spring. It also has way more power than any other chisels we have owned over the years. While it does weigh more I think that is what makes it work better. One bit of advice though. Your definitely going to want hearing protection and safety glasses. This thing is really loud and the glasses because whatever you are taking apart is going to come out in 1 or more pieces. Spend the few extra dollars you will not be disappointed.

This is a beast!
I needed an impact hammer to replace my old one and man o man did I find the perfect replacement. I'm gonna tell you...if you ever messed around changing out bits with that stoopid spiral spring that seems to want to tighten up on itself every time you want to change bits....get this IR air hammer and put those worries of changing bits in the past! Just pull back the collar, remove the bit, install the next one and you are ready to rock and roll and be a master blaster in no time at all while your buddy next to you with that ancient spring is still trying to change out his bit. You are silently laughing at him while you are off making money with your quick change Ingersol Rand air hammer. Now, I want to clarify something. In the ad it says this thing is "Quiet." The only time it is "Quiet" is when it is doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Once you pull that trigger, you better have some hearing protection on because your ear hair is going to be zinging from to and fro at a high velocity. Your eyes will water and your nose will start to bleed. You will get a headache. You may even cuss out your own mama. That is only after you press the trigger. Once you put bit to metal, then Armageddon starts. Horses from the next county over starts to moo. Dogs start to meow. Cats start to bark. But then you'll feel the power in your hands and feel like a man (or a woman...or a they....or a whatever the case may be....) You'll feel muscles pulsating in your body that you never knew you had as you put bit to metal. The vibratory shock overwhelms the senses and the hearing protection protects you from the neighbors as they scream and plead with you to stop but you are now in a zen high. But then you let off the trigger and it all ends.Until you pull the trigger again.

Impressive power for a mid-priced air chisel
Huge block of concrete was on an old fence post. Two of my strong men with 15lb sledge hammers could not dislodge. Old me with heart failure got it off easily with this tool. Great fun too - just don't let that chisel get stuck, keep a little wiggle and not straight in. Just know that if you are doing auto work get the short barrel.
