Geometric Structures: An Inquiry-Based Approach for Prospective Elementary and Middle School Teachers

I rented this book for a college course. It appeared to be in excellent shape (no markings, etc.). However, on Day 31 - one day beyond my 30-day rental return period, I discovered that several of the tear out pages were missing. I had to purchase a new text book from Pearson/Prentice Hall for the remainder of the semester. Warning: when renting this text book, check first to see that it has all of the pages. As a minimum, check your syllabus to be sure the activities you must complete are included.

I needed this book for a Masters course that required me to work through and complete many of the chapters. There are large portions of the chapters missing (as it is a work book), but had I known it was missing them and not just “used” I would have purchased a new one. What a waste of $70!

I purchased this book for my Geometry class, and there were a lot of pages missing from the book. I would go to do an activity that was assigned for homework, and the pages that I needed to work on were missing from the book. It was not just once or twice, this has happened over 10 times.

The book is a mess. I understand it's paperback but when I rent a book for 30$ I assume it's in pretty decent condition, not with a bent and ripped front cover. I feel like I got this book from an elementary school with children playing with it instead of someone learning from it.

Overall, the book does an excellent job in teaching through example and activity. Activities are plentiful and work well in reinforcing concepts over and over again. The only issue I have found in the book is that some of the problems are awkwardly worded and difficult for students to understand, and these problems have required further professor explanation. Also, a couple of the problems were input incorrectly and thus are unsolvable.

This is a good book for the aspiring geometry student. Comes with plenty of problems, some instructional pages and all pages are tearable so you can do them in the book or separately. Great for a college geometry class.
