Ansel Adams: Recordings Ric Burns Film Original Soundtrack

I saw the documentary & kept thinking, as I was watching, that the music was really lovely and of a much higher quality than what is heard in most documentaries. With a little search on the internet, I was pleased to discover that the soundtrack itself was offered for purchase. I should not have been surprised. Do the Burns brothers ever offer anything less than the best? I bought it right away. It is some of the most beautiful instrumental music I have ever heard. It offers a rich blend of orchestral arrangements and piano which immediately brings to mind vast vistas. Many of the selections begin slowly and quietly and work to a crescendo. One can almost imagine rising up the side of one of the mountains in an Ansel Adams photograph and reaching the peak, at last. One selection is actually a recording of Ansel Adams himself playing a piece by Bach. He was, after all, a fine pianist as well as a gifted artist. I find this soundtrack a must for listening on walks in the woods and also for listening to on a road trip. Absolutely outstanding and highly recommended. It has become one of my favorites.

We kept hearing bits of this music on our cable music Chanel and finally decided to purchase the whole album. If you want music to relax by, this is it.

The music is beautiful: the recording of track 12 is abysmal. This is not thee first time I've come across a "professionally" produced (and sold) CD where there were issues not with decisions made in mastering the disc (compress or not to compress, that is the question) rather, there is a technical problem with the recording itself - almost like they over-drove the mic leading to harshness, almost a clipping like scenario. It is so poor that track 12 is unlistenable. Avoid this track and the CD is wonderfully pleasant.

I play this music when I'm working in my garden....& just sitting enjoying cup of coffee. This is perfect background music & also relaxing. Goes very well with my waterfall...love it.

This music is so beautiful... sat outside on a Saturday morning in the cool morning air with a cup of coffee and this CD.. it is just beautiful, relaxing and you can almost see the Ansel Adams pictures come to life in your mind.. I have recommended this to my family who love it as much as my husband and I do.. This is a no brainer.. buy this music
