The Only World Building Workbook You'll Ever Need: Your New Setting Bible (Series Bibles for Writers) Paperback – April 5, 2020

Bought this for my fiance as a Christmas gift and he’s very stoked about it, he’s been wanting to create a world for the longest time but didn’t know where to start so i looked for something that might help, this book has so many questions and goes into a lot of details one wouldn’t think about right away. He loved it!

The media could not be loaded. Ignore those butthurt they didn't look more closely at the description before ordering. This isn't a How-to book. It's nearly blank. But it poses questions like, How are careers or vocations chosen? or What is used for currency? or What is a typical hygiene routine? Tiny things that flesh out a world, even if not mentioned in a story, still inform the worldbuilder and later their readers that this world has layers. Dimension. My only complaint is I may need to buy more than one since I have too many worlds clanking around.

I have used this book the least out of all of the books I purchased from this series. It's not that it isn't useful - quite the opposite. I keep getting inspiration from the prompts given and data organized, and then I have to bounce back to the character development.My only improvement upon this model would be the ability to use this same exact book in a 3 ring binder format. I would love to move pages around for my own organized chaos.

I got this book for my Brother's birthday and he has been loving it! I love the concept and it allows you to build a universe that is coherent!

This is pretty incredible and thorough, and working through it is an endeavor all on its own - actually writing a book from it is another thing altogether. I've never worldbuilt and then written before - usually these things happen in tandem with me making recorded notes about certain details, and then missing some and scrambling back through my own writing when I need to double-check something later on. I am excited to try it this way and see if the process doesn't work better for me - maybe I can actually finish something lol...The only way this could be better was if it were spiralbound and organized into sections with tabs so that when you get to the writing process, you can more easily find your details. Also, easier for us lefties to deal with.

One of my favorite worldbuilding tools ever!! I actually have a few different countries in my world so I'm planning to buy one for each country. Great purchase!

I can see why so many people are disappointed with this workbook. The prompts are decent, but I should have gone with a graph paper notebook and a digital place to store information. What you're really getting is somewhere to store everything that isn't your pc aka a list of prompts and an expensive notebook. It's got lots of space for sketches, maps and lots of prompts for varied worlds but not enough room for what's important to your world to be in depth.Overall: I'm not returning it but may end up using only the prompts.

I’ve been slowly evolving a book series in my head for over a decade. But it’s always been a jumbled mess. This book really helped me focus on things to help me pinpoint how I wanted to write.
