The Big Hustle: A Boston Street Kid's Story of Addiction and Redemption

I highly recommend this book. Jim’s story is truly remarkable. Difficult at times to read, but his journey of redemption and his growing faith is such a beautiful story. I loved his honesty and his willingness to now follow God’s will and work with addicts. While I haven’t dealt with addiction personally, I love Jim’s encouragement to let my light shine and to help others wherever they are in life, to know of God’s love and mercy for them. Not always easy to do, but I’m ready to follow his lead.

God’s redeeming grace and love is the only way this story could have happened. Just read Jim’s story twice and have recommended it to others. Absolutely amazing story!

This book kept me engaged. I had a hard time putting it down because I needed to get some things done. I enjoyed the whole book.

Having been raised in a family with a father who was an alcoholic this story brought back painful memories. Thank you for your honesty and your courage to share your story.

I read it in one sitting on a plane. Such an important message. Absolute ‘depth and weight’ from a fellow friend of Bill trudging the road of happy destiny and a fellow born again Catholic who just recently came to know Jesus.

Great book for anyone who’s known or worked with addiction. Great perspective on faith for those who weren’t necessarily “brought up in the church “. I am not a “reader” as I usually see it as a chore, this was an easy read and easily kept my attention.God bless.

Wonderful book for older teens and adults to help see that life is precious and never lost.

Jim tells us his life journey in simple but powerful terms. He details his life and brokenness from childhood to his eventual redemption. What a moving story that manages to be honest, but avoids sentimentality.
