Great addition!
I have the Majestic 36LDVR fireplace insert and never felt like it did much since it was mostly heating the wall. Recently I had an issue with it (the thermopile needed replacing) and found the manual online. Well, well: The manual listed a fan as part of the unit - something the contractor didn't install! I was able to install this fan kit in about 15 minutes and verified its operation by directly connecting the thermostat switch leads. I didn't find the fan to be too noisy at all. I did, however, have an issue getting the fan to turn on automatically. As another reviewer mentioned, the instructions tell you to attach the magnetic thermostat switch to the bottom of the fire box. I used a temp gun and never saw anything above 93 degrees there. I moved mine back and up on the left side and it works perfectly. I now have toasty air blowing into the room and I am happy (and warm!).

Works, but it is noisy
It does work, but is fairly noisy on any speed except very low. I definitely can feel the difference in air flow from/around the fireplace. The temp switch is set WAY too high - and I placed it according to directions. My fireplace has to run for about an HOUR before the switch will turn on the fan. I bypassed the temperature switch and wired to my existing fan on/off switch. I don't use my gas fireplace much anyway, and can turn the fan on and off manually. NOT EASY TO INSTALL. You will need some electrical/mechanical skill, and plan on working around sharp sheet metal. I'm an HVAC guy - so if I say it wasn't easy, it wasn't an easy install. I'm just glad there wasn't anyone around to hear my foul language when I installed it! Overall, I am happy with it though, and would recommend even with the drawbacks.

Read the instructions, even if you don't follow them....
works great! I had to remove the backplate and install the magnetic thermal sensor on a different place than what they recommended, but other than that it works great. The fan wouldn't fit in the space under and behind my fireplace, so I had to offset it to the side and remove the piece of sheet metal it is attached to. The thermal sensor that turns it on works great now. It seems like the directions had me attaching it to the bottom of the fireplace. That part of my fireplace never got hot, so the fan never turned on. I put the sensor as high as I could on the back side of the burn box. Now it comes on when the fireplace gets hot and stays on until it cools off!

Nice and quiet blower
Nice and quiet blower. I have an older fireplace insert and a replacement fan that was exactly the same as the old one was impossible to find. (Old type fan that looks like a snail shell.) I purchased this kit and it was simple to install with only one minor modification to the existing housing. (Old style that sits in a rectangular box in front of the fireplace insert below the door. Air blows across the bottom of the fireplace and comes out vents left and right of the door.) This I had to drill only one hole in the existing housing and in 10 minutes I was done. I ran the fan on high and had to concentrate to hear it over the normal volume of the TV. I'm very happy with this product and if you're looking for a replacement for a model that doesn't exist any longer this might fit the bill. Just check the dimensions first.

East to install.
It was fairly simple to install. i'm not certain if it has a universal fit, but the holes in the backplate matched up with available screw holes under my fireplace insert. i'm never had a gas fireplace fan before so i can't exactly judge if this is louder/softer than another product. but i have the speed about halfway, and it's definitely audible. this might be normal. it's not a bother though.

Didn’t work for my insert
I have an EverWarm gas logs insert and found I could not easily install this - would need to breech a knockout in the side panel of the ceramic surround and tunnel through a couple 2x4’s to run AC power. If you happen to have an AC outlet just outside your insert you maybe could just run the cord out the front and around. Was gonna be a big deal for me to make it work so I returned.

Huge difference!
The gas fireplace in our new home did not have a fan installed and we noticed how hot the wall above it got after just a few minutes of being lit. Once we installed the fan kit we noticed a huge difference. The fan circulates the warm air out of the top of the fireplace stops it from just rising up the wall. It was pretty easy to install and the instructions were clear. The fan speed is adjustable. It can get a little noisy at full force. But it is a game changer for how we use our fireplace!

Works great
Does what it is suppose, I had to manipulate it just right for placement (tight fit but they all are). It can get loud if you run motor full blast, but we run it less than half and it really pushes the heat out. I would buy again.
