A guide to bands and their best albums. A lot of information that is still valid, but the jam scene continues to grow and new bands have showed up since 2003. Time for an update.

Comprehensive jamband list
AN informative if slightly esoteric listing of most of the jambands in existence. The cd reviews are particularly useful;and details of band members would have been helpful;but the best bit was the cd that came with it which includes a stunning version of "Moth" by Moe.

The definitive guide to the Jamband Scene!!
As a fan and follower of the Jamband scene in North America, what drew me to purchase this book was to have a definitive guide and source of information to some of the bands making their mark on the scene at the minute. This book provides the most indepth list and content of the bands that are out there doing it at the minute. While I was familiar with a lot of these bands such as Widespread Panic and The String Cheese Incident, the book contains bios of hundreds of bands (that you probably have never heard of in the UK) but also reviews of the albums and dvds these bands have released. These album reviews are another great source of information as they provide a good guide of what to buy if you are thinking about trying out some new tunes. While in the US, I picked up some new discs based solely on the reviews in this book from bands that sounded interesting - not one of the many pruchases was a disappointment. The Jamband scene is growing, the music is diverse and a breath of fresh air to a lot of what is supposedly 'new music' out there at the minute. My copy came with a free cd of some of these bands - Assembly of Dust and MOE - it is worth it for these 2 tracks alone!Buy this book and open your mind to a whole new scene in music!!
